Socket Creation (InterNetwork, Stream, Tcp) vs (InterNetwork, Stream, Ip)
What is the difference between the two method of creating a socket?
new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream,
ProtocolType.Tcp);

thread differences from button_Click and timer_Elapsed
Hi, I'm experiencing some kind of thread behavior problem in a WinForms app
in Vb.Net 2.0.
Actually I'm doing some huge interop using DirectShow to interact with my
miniDV camera.

Access or SQL
I have some MS Access databases linked to SQL db's.
I need to create a Web Form with Visual Studio 5.0 for useres to enter and
edit data. Would it be better to establish a new connection to the SQL table
from VS Web site or should I create a connection to the MS Access database?
Is there a way to connect the MS Access Form to the new web page?

Need to have my application launch at logon, replacing the

Comparing two audio files
Hello there,
I'm trying to write a program which compares two audio files (in WAVE format
for example) and decides percentage if smiliarty between them?

Managed C++ Mixed Assembly fails on XP (VS2005SP1)
Hello,
I'm working with a Managed C++ Mixed assembly that works fine on Vista, both
in debug and release mode.
Howerver this assembly fails on XPSP2 in release mode. Works fine in debug
mode. This assemby is a DLL that is loaded from a win32 service. It is
written with Visual Studio 2005 SP1.

Upgrading Isolated Storage on Assembly Version Change
Recently for our product we started updating the file version of our
assemblies with our new builds. Now when we change the assembly version the
isolated storage file is not copied over to the new isolated storage location

This has been asked before but I can't find an answer for it. When I
create an application, I set the application icon. I create several
forms, each of which shows up in the taskbar. When "group similar
taskbar items" is checked these taskbar items should "stack," showing

Hi,
I am trying to do a property on a class with datatype decimal including
scale and precision.
Thus:

Encryption Problem
Hi All,
I am trying to write a program that will encrypt a file, and then read
the encrypted file back for display. I think I am close, but am
getting a CryptographicException: Length of the data to decrypt is
invalid. Here is the code, can anyone help????

Mobile framework, listview multimple select
Hello everyone,
The mobile framework has a listview control. We want to use it in details
layout with multiple select. But the listviewcontrol only supports single
select. Does anyone have an idea how to work around this problem? I have
considered using the checkbox option, but that is not what I want.
