You could embed the 'once-off' text in an IF test coded as:
{IF{MERGESEQ}= 1 "My Unique Text"}
placed before the first directory mergefield.
There is no practical limit of the amount of test, # of paragraphs & formatting, shapes & objects you can incorporate into this. Do
note, though, that the TOC will not reflect the final output if there are headings that should be picked up from the merged
directory entries. If that's the case, you'll need to refresh the TOC (eg via Print Preview).
Note: The field brace pairs (ie '{ }') for the above example are created via Ctrl-F9 - you can't simply type them or copy & paste
them from this message.
