Office install problem

I was going to do some freelance work that requires Office 2007. Since I use
2003, the company sent me a copy of 2007. It would not install using the
provided activation code. I found out the program they sent me was a pirated
copy. Needless to say, I refused to do business with them.

I did however decide to download and install the trial version of Office
2007 to see what new features it has. The download went with no problem and
I entered the supplied code, which was accepted. The software would not
install. The error was simply there was a problem and installation will be
terminated.

Someone suggested the priated version I tried to install is blocking any
other installation attempts. If this is true, is there a way (short of
reformat) to now install 2007?

I am using Vista Home Premium.

Did you uninstall the Office 2007 program you installed, then clear temp
files & reboot?
