Access 2007 replacement for mslldbusr?
"rick_teller via AccessMonster.com" <u47952[ at ]uwe> 12/5/2008 11:37:55 PM
We have an application (VB frontend, Access 2000 backend) that we are
considering moving to Access 2007. One question for which I haven't found an
answer - is there an Access 2007 version of msldbusr.dll. Currently we call a
method from this library (LDBUser_GetUsers) to see how many users are logged
on to the database when any user opens the application. We are using DAO 3.6
in the current version of the app, and plan to move to the updated version of
DAO provided by the Access Runtime Engine. Is there a more direct way to
determine the number of current users?

I'm 99% sure you can continue to use the same one.

I just tested it and it works fine.

Another option would be to use the technique outlined in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/198755/EN-US/

You'd need to change your connection string if you're using an ACCDB.

Thanks for the reply. I realize that this dll works with the new file format.
But since we have to include the dll on our installation CD, I was wondering
if there is a more up-to-date version to include along with the newer runtime
files.
