Suddenly one of our pc fails because it cant find the trim function. Went to
the references for vb & they all were the same. They tried to reload office
xp but that didn't help. Got any ideas? TIA

When you say that the references were the same, are you sure that there
wasn't a "MISSING:" in front of one (or more)?

One thing to try is add another reference at random, back out of the dialog
then go back in and delete the reference you just added.

Another is to unselect as many of the selected references as you can (Access
won't let you unselect them all), back out of the dialog then go back in an
reselect all of the references you unselected. (Remember to write down the
references you unselected, because they'll be in a different order when you
back in!)

Ok thanks for the comeback. We had a duplicate copy of our front end & when
we executed that one the 'trim' went away. Evidently something corrupted in
the front end.
