"You have not entered a valid Product Key"

Office XP Professional - SP3
Windows 2000 Professional - SP4
IE6 - SP1

My MS Office XP Professional has been running great for the past couple of
years on a Windows 2000 Professional OS computer until yesterday.

Yesterday when i started up Outlook it launched the Office Setup
Installation processes and asked me for my Product Key. I used my Product Key
from my CD case and i received this message "You have not entered a valid
Product Key". I tried all the other office programs and had the same results
from each program.

After triple checking my Product Key for each program i uninstalled MSOXPP
completely from my computer. Rebooted twice and cleared out all my temp
files.

When i tried to install MSOXPP from both CD and local copy i was stopped by
the same message after inputing my Product Key, "You have not entered a valid
Product Key".

I also tried to add my Product Key to my "setup.ini" file.
PIDKEY="MyProductKeyHere" with quotes but it gave me the same prompt and
message.

Thanks for reading this and I appreciate any information or insight.

Run Belarc Advisor and see if it's the same number that's on your CD case.

Hi JoAnn,

Belarc might have showed me the PIDKEY if i hadn't uninstalled my software.
Right now Belarc shows no office software installed.
