Missing SKU111.cab
klotom 10/13/2008 10:35:01 AM
I am trying to run a repair for Office 2003. It says a required installation
file SKU111.cab.ould not be found . When I insert the installation disks, I
can't find the file in question. Any ideas

This is for "Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 SKU011.CAB"

If you don't have that version installation CD or the network path to the
original install, this will occur. Since this is for an Enterprise edition,
I would assume that this program was installed at work and is not a personal
copy. (If this is a personal copy, unless it is a home use license purchase
from your company, the license was probably sold illegally and would be
considered a pirated copy.)

From Microsoft source see what is said at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896866.

I have the original disks, the software was purchased legally from school.

Try the fix that MS shows in the previous link to see if you can recover.

This solution was posted awhile ago, it seems to help...

1. Click on start==>run==>type "excel /s" without quotations and click
ok.

2. Once Excel is up in safe mode with the error message in front, hold
down ctrl+Alt+Delete keys on your keyboard to bring the task manager up.

3. Click on the processes tab==>look for msiexec.exe (only the one next
to your user name), click on it and end the process.

4. Excel should be running without an error message now==>close Excel in
safe mode==>reopen it one more time in safe mode to check if it is
opening with no error message.

5. Close Excel /s and open Excel normally, it should work fine.

The above solution was previously supplied by swaidan[ at ]NOSPAM-gmail.com
(Bahboosh) on other dedicated Newsgroup.
