If I understand the problem correctly, you're trying to include the contents of a source document in a target document, but without the source document's final <CR>. If that's so, you could bookmark all of the source document, except the final <CR>, then use an INCLUDETEXT field in the target document to link to the bookmarked range in the source document. See Word's help file for more details.
