What steps are you taking? What happens when you try?

I put in the disk, typed in the produce key. Said it finished install
succefully. But when I go to open programs. Nothing at all happens. no
error messages. Nothing. It will act like its going to open for a second or
so and then nothing. Nobody seems to have any answers for me. I even went
as far as taking the first disk back and exchanged it for another one.

How are you trying to open the programs? (I know, these seem like silly
questions but sometimes one little thing can make light bulbs go on.)

Re: Office home and student 2007
Kim 6/4/2007 4:52:00 PM
I have tryed opening them by themselves. I have tryed opening them by trying
to open a document.. The last time I tryed to open something it told me that
it could not find it to open search and find it that way. It is saying
something about Windows can not open my docements/tempory internet/ blblbl.
I was told to try and put it on my desk top computer and it worked. So that
told us that it wasn't the disk. I also have microsoft works on my laptop,
so thinking it might be conflicting with each other I dumped works, but it
didn't help either. Iam lost. I guess if all else fails I will just have to
use my desk top instead of my laptop. that bites.

Re: Office home and student 2007
Kim 6/4/2007 5:40:02 PM
Okay let me try to send this one more time, it made me sign back in. It
won't let me copy so I have to type it all out :

Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents and Settings\Kimberly Donaldson\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
Content.IE5\7PSGRAXE\Course_Calendar[1].doc'. Make sure you typed the name
correctly, and then try again. To search file, click the start button, and
then click search.

I get this when I click on the calendar button in my class. When I go to
just open word, excel or notebook I get nothing at all. the only thing that
does work is the dygnostic tool and it says that nothing is wrong.

Thanks for all your help that you are giving me

Since you are getting a message about your temporary cache, it maybe prudent to
empty the folder. In Internet Explorer, tools, Internet Options, delete button
if you have IE7 or simply delete files if you are using IE6.

It sounds like the file was emailed to you and you didn't save it to your
hard drive. You edited it but it's a temp file.

What happens when you open Word from the desktop icon or Start menu?

Long Shot but possible. Had a user that installed a 3rd party program and could not find it to open it. He was going nuts even installing over the top a few times. Still nothing.
As it turned out he had it installed but on another partition on his HD. When he went to his 3rd partition he found the install and problem was solved.

Maybe this can also be the case. Does the OP have different partitions and Office is installed on the one that she is not accessing.

The file is fine except that word will not open. If I try to open it through
the start menu or thru the icon, nothing at all will happen. nothing. I am
lost

I hope you two know what you are talking about because I am so clueless to
what you just said. I hope whatever you said will work and can fix the
problem.

Thank you both for trying to help me with my problem. I am very very
grateful,
Kim
