What are the print settings for that sheet? In other words, what does Excel try todo if you print the document from Explorer as saved? Is it set for a larger sheet of paper or to fit the entire sheet onto one page?
OneNote keeps whatever print settings are in place for Office documents when you try to print a document into OneNote. What may be happening is that OneNote is trying to adhere to the print settings and might be trying to fir this large sheet onto a single OneNote page, zooming it all the way out so that it appears as a black square. If you print the document into OneNote and then change the zoom level (ctrl-scrollwheel on the mouse) does the document look better?
A way to troubleshoot this and determine if there isn't a different issue is to take the Excel spreadsheet and set its print settings to print one page onto 8.5x11 portrait and re-save the doc. When you print that saved doc, does it still appear all black?
