quickbooks migration

I have been using QickBooks Prem non-profit for ages. I just got a copy of
Office Accounting Pro 2007 and did the migration thing yesterday. It seems
like most everything is there but I do notice my account balances are off and
I suspect it came from a waring I saw regarding the initial set up of what
fiscal year I wanted to set to start with. I have stuff in QB going back in
to the early 2000's so I was not sure if I wanted to set that start at like
1-1-2000 to 12-31-2000 or go with 1-1-2007 to 12-31-2007 (which I did) to
keep just this years info active. Any thoughts on which way I should have
gone with it? I have not made any changed yet so I can go back and do it
over easy enough.
