Invalid Product Key after Restoring Laptop
moffat 11/28/2008 7:35:01 AM
I buoght Office 2007 for my laptop and I installed it and it worked fine but
for completely different reasons I had a problem with my laptop and had to
restore it to factory settings. Now when I try to install Office again it
says my product jey is invalid although it is the same one I used before.
What can I do?

Are you sure you are using the right Key? Remember there is one
for the operating system and a different one for Office.

Yeah 100% certain, it's printed on the CD case that I bought for Office and
my operating system came pre-installed so I don't even know what its product
key is.

Are you sure you didn't put an eight instead of a B or a six instead of
a G or a zero instead of a O?

I'm sure I've checked this a million times before but it's working now. Thank
you, I feel like an idiot!

Yesterday, it happened to me installing XP for a client. I checked and
checked and checked and I was sure I didn't make a mistake but as it
turns out, I saw a six where there was a G. Why they have to make those
Product Keys so small is beyond me.
