We have a main folder created under “All Public Folders†and 100s of sub folders. Recently our “IT support†guy moved exchange to a new sever and we lost all permissions. I’m the one who assigns permissions and sets them through my outlook on my computer. I can still see all the correct permissions set but people can’t do what they have permission to do. The IT guy says he has to go to each & every subfolder to reset the permissions. But everything I’ve read says you can go to the exchange server and set the permissions on the main folder through “Microsoft Exchange Server administrator†program then propagate them to all subfolders. He says it will only affect new folders, not existing ones. This doesn’t make sense to me. He seems to be confusing propagation and inheritance, no? Maybe I’m wrong, I’m just someone who’s interested in computers and knows how to read help files! Point being, I’d like to try but I can’t seem to find the “Exchange Server Administrator†program and the guy didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked. Can anyone tell me how to find it? Am I looking for something that’s actually entitled “Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator?
Thanks to any and all who can tell me where to find it as well as shed any light on this problem!
