protecting templates

How can I protect a template so that other users of a document can add
information but cannot change the formatting. I have a manual which describes
how to protect a template but this does not seem to allow another person to
add information into a document without being able to change the formatting.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Richard

If you have Word 2003 or later you can protect the document for styles. This
means you can identify the styles you want to allow in the documents that
users create. Make sure you test it thoroughly. For example, you may need to
create and allow a style for bold or italics, or to allow a user to set a
paragraph as 'keep with next'.

Hope this helps.
