Upsizing Wizard
All,
I have created an ODBC entry that links to a new SQL Server
Express 2005 file database (mdf) file. I have tested the connection
via the ODBC tools in Windows XP and it says everything is fine. When
I attempt to utilize the Upsizing Wizard in MS Access V2003, I say use
an existing database and select the existing File Data Source DSN file

Calendar control issue
have a calendar control in Access 2002 applications that works fine. When
we ported all the Access 2002 applications to 2003, the calendar control
stopped working at most of the places where it is called. I checked for
missing references and the version numbers too – they all seem to be correct.
The control works sometimes which surprises me.

mailing labels to access table
I've been given a word document with about 400 names and addresses. These are
in a avery mailing label format. Can anyone suggest a good method for
importing them into an Access table.
I realize there will be some percentage of error, because some have two
addr lines, apt #, ..., but i'm sure there has to be a good way to at least
get started.

Exporting from multiple tables in Access To Excel
I have a file that a client gave me that has all of her store information in
it. It's a file that was given to her from the product distributor. It has

Version of a database
I want to write a VB6 tool that (among other) can take a file specification
of an mdb-file and tell me whether it is in Access97-, Access2000- or
Access2002/2003-format. However, all I found out is that I could get the
Jet-Version of the file. I use the following code:
Set objDatabase = objDaoWorkspace.OpenDatabase(filespec, ...)
varVersion = objDatabase.Version
This gives 3.0 for an Access9...

Access --> SQL 2000 (Read only)
I converted an Access 2003 Database to run on SQL 2000. However, it is
apparent that the database is being opened in exclusive mode by the first
user.
I know how to resolve this when the back-end is also Access 2003 but how do
I resolve this as it is on SQL 2000....

Access 2003 'out of memory' error
Hi, I have just upgraded to msaccess 2003, my database has been running fine
up until this point. I now can only run some of the procedures, it will not
allow me to compile nor even add certain procedures claiming the 'out of
memory' error.
very annoying and I cannot solve this alone, can anyone help please?

Export OLE embedded documents from accesss to Office Files
I have the database on access 2000 / SQL server.
A table have columnd with embedded office (column Word, and Column Excell)

Permission probs w/Split database for Access97 & Access2003 Multi-
I've successfully split an Access 97 database and set up an identical front
end in Access2003. I've verified multiple times that my user group
permissions are defined identically for the tables in the back end as well as
the tables and all other objects in both versions (97 & 2003) of the front

help: convert ms access from FAT format to NT format
I need help on converting Microsoft access from win98 FAT format to
WinXP home NT access format.
I recently bought an off-lease IBM for $299, loaded with winXP home and
office 2000. I activated it and thought I could easily convert my win98
office 2000 access files.

Microsoft Access was unable to create an MDE database
I am receiving the "Microsoft Access was unable to create an MDE
database" message and I've read through all of the previous postings on
this. I am running Access2000 SP3 off of an XP OS, my code all

Converting DBF File
Hi
I am absolutely new to this, when I try to convert the old DBF file to
Access, Access is not able to open it in Datasheet view because there is no
index even though I did choose the index file

ODBC function sequence error after converting from Acc 97 to Acc 2
After converting an Access97 database to Access 2000, the append queries do
not work
The append queries select fields from pass-through queries that use an ODBC
connection to an external database.
The queries are of the form .

Converting large number of Microsoft Works files to Access
My company's database currently consists of 450 Microsoft Works .wdb
files. All the files have a similar structure. When we moved to the
latest version of Works, we could no longer use mail-merge with
Microsoft Word. So we were thinking about moving to an Access

can't get messenger to download
Have a new HP Windows XP Home edition. We have Broadband internet service
and I am using a free front page from Yahoo and I can use the benefits from
joining their business. I tried several times to download the Instant
Messenger and I keep getting a notice that My DDL and library files can't be
located. I have searched and they don't seem to have it in my computer

Auto compact not working in access 2002
I have just come across a rather odd error message:
Over a network I have an Access 2002 front end (xx.mdb) and an Access 97
backend.
if I have the front end Auto compact on close, I get this message when I
quit the application:

Access 2002 - Open - Security Message
Hi,
Upon opening an Access 2002 DB a security warning message is displayed.
Help suggests that setting the security setting for the entire machine to
"LOW" will solve this problem. This is, of cause, not acceptable at most
client sites.
Is there another technique to suppress the security warning message?
