access 97 run-time install on vista
When trying to install an access 97 run-time application on a customer's
Vista machine, I get the following error message: oleaut32 support file was
unable to register itself in the system registry
Office 2000 (including access 2000 - version 9.0) has previously been

Access 2003 runtime
Does anyone know if the Access 2003 runtime is available in a product other
than the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the Microsoft Office System.
That product costs $983 Canadian which is a bit expensive when all I need is
the runtime.

Visual Source Safe 6.0b and Access 2002
One of my Access 2002 projects is moving into a phase that would benefit
from source code control. My Office XP Developer package came with a VSS
disc. What can I expect from this?

Data Normalization
I understand what the purpose and value of data normalization is, but
I just have one thing I am confused about. If you split up a table,
then it will create two tables. The child table will have a lookup
column to the parent table, which will have whatever value is
applicable that relates that given record to it's parent. What I

SVN or CVS with access
Hi,
I'm developping an access application and I would like to use CVS or SVN to
version the development.
Quite often, I would like to create branches to develop or test new feature.
I know it's possible and easy to handle. but I can't merge binary file.
Is there a way to automaticaly export all forms, modules, reports and so on
into a text format? So, it will be perfectly manageable ...

I'm using Access 03; developing apps for 3 years now. I'd like to create

Distributing data to remote users
I have 5 users using a database remotely. They all work from home and/
or out at the client. The never return to the main office which is
just someone's house.
We have set up a system to collect the data they are entering into the
system. I wanted a way to let them share lookup tables through the
internet. Does anyone know how this might be handled?

Database References
I have my application installed at many locations and on many, many client
workstations. Right now, my applicaton is written in such a way that if I
send out an update, all the user must do is place it on the server and the
workstations update automatically.
My question is how would I add a reference in this situation. In other
words, I'd like my update routine to automcaitlly register...

I'd like to change some fields in an access table from number to text or,
alternatively, create new fields, transfer data to them and delete the prior
fields.
All these in Visual Basic for Access.

Access 2003 run time
I have installed the following on the pc:
Office 2003 Pro,
Office Access 2003 Runtime,
Office Access 2003 Developer Extesions
Visual Studio Tools for MS Office System
When I try to create a package using the wizard, I can not pass the
step 5 with the follow error:
