Error 3356
I am getting this error saying someone is logged in exclusively to my
Database when I try to update the MDE file.
The problem is that the user is ME!! I have shut down my computer
completely, but the security file still shows I am in it...even though I do
not have it open. How do I fix this without having to re-do my whole
database?...

Disabling Security
I have created a database with security for 1 department of my company.
Another department would like to have the database without the secrutiy on
it. I have copied the original database but I am having trouble removing the
password. I have tried clearing the Admin's password so I no longer have to
log in however the security still remains and when I try to change user

Start-up log on
XP pro SP2 single home user. Up to date on everything, machine runs great.
Something happened. I use to be able to turn the machine on and walk away,
and in a few minutes it was all ready to go.
Now, I turn the machine on, and it stops. I have to click sign-on as the
administrator. I don't want to that. I want to turn it on and get coffee and

User level security problem
For one of my access file I implemented ULS. Now when ever I open up other
access files it is bringing up the log in box. None of my other files have
any ULS associated with them. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and
how I can have the log in box come up for just that one file?
Thanks

Security in 2007
I have a fe/be application in Acc 2003 and I am starting to look at Acc 2007.
There are some new features in 2007 that I would like to incorporate into
the app. One of the features NO LONGER AVAILABLE in native 2007 is user
level security (ULS).
I was using ULS to keep users out of design mode on forms, query etc. If
the FE is opened by a user (as opposed to a developer as defined in...

allow insert but not delete
Hi,
I'm hoping someone will help with permissions problem. I want to allow one
user in the "Read Only Users" to enter data to a form. I don't want them to
delete the data, just enter data to an existing record.
When I set permissions to the query backing the form to read & insert, it
doesn't allow any entry to any field. If I set permissions to read, insert
and update, it will let...

password required for one user and not others (Access 2003)
I have a database that was set up to require a password for everyone who used
it. Now, only one user has to enter a password; all other users can get into
the database without being prompted for a password. The User and Group
Permissions dialog shows all the users. How do I get Access to prompt for a
password for all users again?
Thank you.

hide BE mdb so user cannot use Windows Explorer to find it
My BE .mdb is in network shared folder. Is it possible to hide BE .mdb so
users cannot use Windows Explorer to find it but still be able to use my
application which splits FE and BE where FE is in C: and BE is in network
shared folder?
IT staff told me they are using Microsoft Active Directory to manage users
and groups on the network.
Thanks.
