Access 2007 .ACCDB User Level Security?
What can I do to restrict user access to data? I've just come back to
Microsoft Access after a lengthy vacation and wonder how folks deal
without User Level Security in Access 2007 .ACCDB databases. It's not
hard to find that by holding down the space key when launching Access
the locked down menus and tool bars can be restored. It seems to me
that Microsoft has given up on limiting access to...

SSL failure in Outlook
The following system event was logged by Schannel when Outlook 2003 tried
and failed to connect to gmail over SSL. Does anyone know what the problem
might be?
"A fatal error occurred while opening the system DSS cryptographic module.
Operations that require the SSL or TLS cryptographic protocols will not work
correctly. The error code is 0x80090017."

I excluded myself from administrators of a db
I made a mistake when I changed the workgroup and user access of an ms access
db what I currently develop.
The software is not quite finished, but it is usable, and my users need it,
so I decided to release it with a workgroup file with restrictions.
To avoid unauthorized modification I excluded the Admin user from the db
administrators and take away all of its rights.
Unfortunatelly I ...

Different passwords in Access 2007
I'm wondering if there in Access 2007 exists a possibility to, after having
split a database into a "tables only " part and a "forms" part, set different
passwords for the different parts of the database?
I would like to have an "administrator" password for the "tables only" part
and a "user" password for the "forms" part. However, when I use the password
function in Access 2007 and set...

How does a workgroup file get created?
We didn't have one but all of a sudden one showed up. Now we can't
get into the database. I joined the workgroup file but it asks for a
username and password. I don't know how it ever got activated. Is it
possible to set up a workgroup security by accident?...

too, I have found some cool software at:

But it's for 20$! Is there any freeware or open source replacement?

User Level Security & Access 2007
I need to convert many MS Access 2003 applications to MS Access 2007. The
problem is that all these applications uses User Level Security and it needs

Preventing importing from
I created a utility inside an Access database that allows certain users to
unlock and lock a database. I created my own proprietary locking method.
I created this method so that other developers can make changes and then
"lock it" to everyday users.
The locking consists of setting the following properties false:

AllowShortcutMenus
AllowBuiltinToolbars
