mc access
we recently converted to ms office 2007. somehow in the process we lost our
individual permissions in our access db. users can still access the db but
can only view the data. no one seems to have the rights to edit anymore and
we don't even seem to have the ability to give out rights. how do we get
the permissions back? and if they have to be reassigned how to we get

password recovery for MS Access DB
My problem lies in the fact that a manager here would like some information
in a MS Access db which has a password although it has been long forgotten so
I am also unsure what version it was created in. Are there any tools that
you recommend for 97 or 2000 or 2003? I will try each until it works
although I am more convinced this was created in 2000 not 97 or 2003. Thank
you....

Cannot open Microsoft Jet Engine Workgroup Information File
Hi all.
I've searched this newsgroup for similar postings and they all seem
to
be under a slightly different scenario than what I'm experiencing.
I have an application with my own User Security file (BB.MDW) which
is
used to access several secured access databases. The workgroup file
resides in the same directory as the .mdb files with a different name
than the .mdb files.
What...

Allowing people to only enter data into a form
I am new to Microsoft Access and have recently made a simple database using
Access 2003. The Database is fine up and running and all works ok, but i
need to allow others using to input data into one form only, so that they

Remove or disassociate a mdw
Hi all, is there any easy way to just unjoin, from a mdw file that is

this nightmare for me) created an mdw file that has more than the default,
all users are admin mdw. I really doubt there is a simple solution or it

Extra DBs created
We have a DB that I secured using the wizard a few months ago. Over time I
have had to add, delete or change a few of the user accounts.
I cannot pin down when or why, but in the folder where the DB is stored
extra dbs have been created. They are all named db1, db2 etc. We are now at
db29.
I am not too familiar with Access and the security side effects. Can
someone explain why ...

No more double-click code access?
I am trying to come to grips with the numerous changes in Access 2007. One
of these is that double-clicking a control does not open it's OnClick event
routine, even if the VBA window is open.
Can this functionality be enabled, or is this another irritating security
feature from the people who claim to be providing enhanced productivity every
time they take functionality out of Office...

for a logon and password which was previously successfully setup at the

User level security - help needed
I'm using access 2003 and am really struggling with creating user level
security.
The database in question needs 3 levels of access;
1. General User - can open and use specific forms (3 in total) to run
queries and filter data, but only have read only access
2. Managers - can fully edit information (apart from delete records), and
only open and use specific forms (about 5)
