Commas and periodes
Hi...
I want copy a lot of numbers from an english list into Excel.
Problem is that english uses . (periode) as a decimal divider, instead of a
, (comma) as we do here in Norway.
The thing is that Excel automatically change the properties of these cells
to DATE and 1.75 becomes jan.75
I want it to read 1,75 (with a comma) as a number and not a date.
Is there a solution to this?

Conditional formatting
I want to change font when a cell takes a certain value from a formula, but
in the conditional formatting box the font selection is ghosted out. Any tips

Concatenating Two Columns
I need to concatenate an entire column of first names and a matching
column of last names into a new column of first name:" ":last name.
Can I use the "CONCATENATE" command once to accomplish this? If so,
what is the exact syntax I should use and in what cell should I put
the command?...

Coping from one spreadsheet to another - but loses text formatting and replaces blanks with 0
Hi,
The subject says it all! I've got a 'master' spreadsheet with several
tabs of basic data and I would like 'slave' spreadsheets which are
automatically updated when I change the master.
I'm fine (or so I thought...) with coping from one spreadsheet to
another in a different file altogether - but then I lose all text
formatting and blank cells are replaced with 0.

Need formula to calculate List Price.
Need help with an excel formula to figure out the list price. I was
given the discount (%) and my net price but I want to figure out what
was the origin list price before the discount was applied.
I have following cells which have the data I need to look at to get
final cost.
A10 - Contains the net price (my price)
B10 - Contains my discount (%)
C10 - Where I want the list price to appear...

I've inharited a spreadsheet that I need to change the query to an external source...
I've inharited a spreadsheet that connects to an external source, our SQL
2005 server.
I've altered the query to reflect our server name and saved it in Excel as a
query with a new name.
If I press F5 I can select the range, then I click on the Edit Query icon .
First it says "This query cannot be edited by the Query Wizard", I press OK.
Then it says "Invalid object name "TheirSERVERNAME.o...

Applying defined names to existing formulas
tried to use the ‘name’ feature of excel – for named ranges to appear
in formulas instead of cell references?
Eg =licence_costs to appear as the formula instead of =C21
I have selected the source cell C21 in Sheet1 and created a name
licence_cost. I can see the name defined in the menu option Insert/
Name. Refers to =Sheet1!$C$21 (I note an absolute reference is
created automatically...

Using Named Range in LOOKUP formula?
My LOOKUP formula currently reads:
=((LOOKUP($I6,$A$2:$A$7,$D$2:$D$7)-J6)+(LOOKUP($I6,$A$2:$A$7,$G$2:$G
$7)))
I would like to change this so the ranges are columns in a Named
Range. Something like:
=((LOOKUP($I6,Range_Col1,Range_Col4)-J6)+
(LOOKUP($I6,Range_Col1,Range_Col7)))

Status Bar disappears in Excel 2007
I get this problem repeatedly and it's very, very annoying. The Status Bar
keeps disappearing in Excel and the only solution seems to be to close and
keep reopening the application.
This is very annoying as I'm using an add-in that takes about 30 seconds to
load.
I tried to Google this, but seems like no one's reported a similar problem
before. Can someone tell me where I can access ...

Excel 2003 - VBA - Toolbar Control

Blank book not automatically displaying on Start of Excel
I am using Excel 2007. I created and saved some macros in my personal macro
workbook. Initially I forgot to re-hide the personal workbook. I hid the
workbook today, closed Excel. Now whenever I restart excel it no longer
opens a blank file for me such as Book1. I have to manually choose file new.
Any ideas on how to get the automatic loading of a blank file when the
program starts?...

Chart Dates Difficult to Set
How do you set the parameters of a chart so that the quarters
correspond exactly to the major unit and the months correspond to the
minor unit?

Licence?
Hi,
I have a website, using some db data, I would like to create xls files
on server-side (in c# or vb), then give a possibility to download it
by user (or send it via email)- all I need is an Excel- I could create
a file and send it from my code on server side- which licence is
needed (excel only!) to such a functionality?

Copy value from cell with custom format
Hi,
I want to copy values from cells with a special custom number format.
i.e.
the cell value is displayed as 1060028 but it's literal value is 28.
When I look at the number format in "format cells" it says the number format
is 10600##. If I copy this cell from one to another even using "paste
special values" it only returns 28.

Pivot table filter row by today or later
I have a pivot table with dates down the left side row and data in the columns.
I want to filter out any dates that do not occur after today. The key being
that today should be dynamic [such as @now() ] and not have to be manually
reset everyday.
The date filters have various options but none allow use a formula or
reference that is true dynamic.
