Excel Charts and Shapes or Text Boxes that disappear
Excel 2003: I have found this problem with an embedded chart into
which I copy a map. I then use the Chart Events to track the mouse
cursor and 'drop' waypoints onto the map (making this work is another
topic on it's own!). However, if the chart is wider than the screen
window then as it is scrolled left a point is reached where these

I create a chart from data. I now want to use that chart and data to predict

Multiple charts with same serie names
I want to have the same color in all four of my line charts per series. All
charts have the same series name. Is there some type of VBA code that I can
run a macro to achieve this ?
example:

mnotorcycle = yellow line

how do I create a chart using nonadjacent ranges?
I am trying to create a chart using nonadjacent ranges in Excel 2007. The
directions say to select the first range, then hold down CTRL and select the
second. When I hold down control it will only let me select one cell. What
am I doing wrong? Thanks....

Showing totals in data table in a line chart
I'm trying to show the totals of two data series in a line chart. Everytime I
inlude the cells in the data range the total cells are plotted in on the
chart. Is there a way to dispaly the sum of the cells and not plot the totals
on the chart?

A line across my area chart
I use a spreadsheet to trend multiple elements by date. Auto-filter selects
which element is charted. Some of the graphs (I have 6 graphs, each with
multiple columns graphed versus x=date) are Area charts, and there is a line
between the first data point and the last data point that messes up the
shading of the areas such that below that line the included data is shaded
above the line ...

XL2003: Shape-borders on scatter-series' look wavy

I'm trying to create a report using VBA, and I think I've got it all down
except for one step, and that is to add 35 blank lines between each of 130
numbers. This is pulling data from lots of places with this being step # 2,
and when this part is done everything else shouldn't be a problem. If it's

How do I do different error bars within a series?
I have two sets of data, and have used the mean to make a column chart. I now
need to add standard deviation error bars, which will be different for each
mean. The only way I have seen to do this so far is by switching the data
over the axis (ie, clicking "Switch row/column") but this clumps my bars
together and gets rid of the axis labels for the two columns.

Alignment Data Label changes when opening file Excel 2007
I have various data labels in my basic column chart. The text direction is
set to "rotate all text 270°". Everything looks fine until I re-open the
spreadsheet and the text direction is back to horizontal.

Graph to only include rows with data in
Hello, I want to make a graph which is based on a table which gets its data
from other parts of my spreadsheet - so all the data is made from formulas.
Some of the rows at the bottom will be empty, and I want the graph to ignore
these empty rows, but to include them if data is added at a later date.
Is there a way to point the graph to an area, but to tell the graph to

Conditional Series Labels in Charts
I would like to have Excel automatically exclude the series label on a
stacked column chart if the value associated with it is zero. I can use the
0;0;;@ custom number format to make the values themselves disappear in the
data labels but I don't know how to automatically turn off the series label
along with it.

Pie Chart - Columns
I have 2 problems with a pie chart.
The first is that my data is in columns and i can't seem to get the pie
chart to work. I have the first column which is the description, and then

plot areas gone wild
I've got 62 charts in a single worksheet. I use VBA to create them. After
they're created they look fine. Plot areas are all good. But when I copy
the worksheet to a new workbook the plot areas in most of the charts go
