Formulas to display all 3 letter combinations in 8 letters
I do a tote in my local club where I pick three letters for 10 pence. If
these come out I win several hundred pounds.
I have a spreadsheet that uses the FACT function to show the factorial of a
number up to the number 26 containing combinations of 3 numbers and the cost
e.g. 4 = 4 combinations of 3 numbers, 7 = 35 combinations of 3 numbers, 15

Toolbar keeps opening up other workbook tempaltes
Excel 2003 - I created a custom toolbar with custom buttons assigned to
macros. I saved the XLS as an HTM file and saved it as a workbook.
Everything works fine. However, I made a copy of that HTM workbook and now
when I click on the toolbar in the new HTM workbook, it runs the macros fine,
but it opens up the original HTM workbook where I intially created the
toolbar.

Separating Strings of Text
Hi,
A user has presented a challenge that I'm wondering if it's possible.
The spreadsheet has columns of cells each containing several model numbers,
and the values are separated by commas and spaces in each cell. (eg. 8890,
x3340, mx750)
To make things more confusing, each model is colored differently depending
on the distributor, and there are several different colors in some cell...

Populate central worksheet template from multiple worksheets
I have a worksheet that I copy into a monthly workbook that centralizes my
data. I want to autopopulate that worksheet when I copy it into each
workbook. Each workbook has multiple sheets and each sheet is uniquely named.

MS Query Alternative
Hi,
I'm bound to Excel for purposes of making my output usable by normal human
beings and I generally use MS Query to query our data warehouse (SQL Server).
The thing is that Microsoft has totally neglected MS Query for well over a
decade. It is primitive, inflexible and just doesn't do the job.

Is there a way to view how a cell is currently formatted?
I am gettin the #VALUE! error in one of my formulas and one of the possble
reasons is that numbers may be formatted as text. The workbook I am working
in is protected so I cannot chang the formatting of the cells. I just need to
see if that is the problem so I can see what action needs to be taken....

Avoid recomputation in a large excel worksheet
I have a worksheet with 2000 rows and 20 columns. All of these cells have
formula to compute their values. Each formula gets recomputed even when the
data used the computation have not changed - in short it takes an enormous
time to recompute 40000 data whose values have not changed. Is there anyway
to make excel stop recomputation when it is known that the values will not

Hi,
If column A row 1 has the text "IT-MDU" how can I in column B write a
formula to state that if the 1st 2 letters in column A are "IT" = 1 and if
not ""?
I want to import this information to Access to create a report and I need to

Concatenate Numers / Text (Special)
- I need to concatenate three cells each containing specific info:
1st cell is a letter (ie. "A", "B", etc.)
2nd & 3rd Cells are two digit numbers (ie. 01, 02....10,11)-(format is
custom 00)
I need the combination to concatenate and show as follows:
A0105, B1106, H0209, etc.
Please help, I am beginning to think that this is an impossible task.

Insert Worksheet?
I'm used to using Excel (03-07) in Windows XP, but now I'm stuck with Vista.
When I used to open a new workbook, there were 3 worksheets available in each
document and I would go to "Insert" "Worksheet" to add several more for large
projects. I find only one sheet in a new file with the 2007 software that

Saving with name and date macro
Hi i hope someone can help me.

Updating Hyperlinks Question
Greetings! I am using VISTA and Excel 2007. In sheet B I have hyperlinks to
