vlookup after conversion to 2007
We recently converted from 2003 to 2007.
The vlookup formulas linking separate sheets no longer work.
They return a blank space.
Is there something I need to do to convert these functions?

formulas for text
I assign field hockey and lacrosse games. After all assignments are made I
would like to be able to see all the games that the individual refs have. I
know I can use Find and Select to see if I have double booked them but I want
to be able to print a list of their games also for payment purposes. Is there

Formula to count every other column (dynamic range)
Hello, I wrote yesterday regarding how to setup a formula to count
information which will be added on a regular basis. Pecoflyer mentioned
dynamic range. Sounds great. I checked it out but my question is how would
I do this when I only want to count every other cell because one answer will
be yes and one will be no. I want a formula to add up the no and yes in a
row on a questionnair...

system wont accept a format
Hi everyone,
There is something in my system other than regional settings that
doesn’t allow me to read dates in the "mm.dd.yyyy" format, like even
if I try to enter such a format in the custom menu excel automatically
switches it back to "dd.mm.yyyy"
my regional settings are set to USA, even though i Live in Greece.
Any hints please?

Microsoft Office Doc Image Writer is still printing ghosts and it's totally freaking me out!!!!!!!
Every time i use 'Microsoft Office (2003) Doc Image Writer' (no printer at
home) no printed document appears - ever!!!
But when I try to reprint the document it's 'dis-embodied' ghost appears
only in the save as dialogue box (even after a reboot)
I think this is yet another Vista bug (Vista can't see/find existing
documents)
I've reported this before without cure

extract and assign numerics to characters

I have a sheet that contains some products code but with no special
pattern,like the following:

i want to assign these values, numbers from 0-9 as they are from from

Is this possible on excel?
ok heres my prob...im using excel to keep track of payroll for 3 different
jobs and i was wondering how i can enter names, dates, times and rates on one
worksheet and have it generate a sign in sheet (that is standardized and
recreated in excel) with all the entered data for each seperate job on 3
seprate worksheets.
hope someone understands this...its driving me nutty...

sum values from range of cells if cells correcponding have the sam
hiya, i have a small project and i've spent too much time on this already -
can't figure it out myself. What i need to do is to create a formula which
will find the same values in column A and will sum the corresponding to them
values from columns B:E.
this is a sort of result i want to get:
A B C D E F RESULT:

if function
I have a formula that is not working.
=if($Z$58="",ag46+ag48+ag50)-if($z$58="X",0) If cell z58 is empty I want it
to add the ag cells and if z58 cell has an x in it I want it to show 0. It
is doing 0 for both functions, it is not adding the ag cells. What am I
doing wrong?

Can I do a search with a drop down in XL 2003?
Hi, I'm trying to do a validation on 1 cell, what I wan to achieve is when we
type the first letter or number of the info the cell can bring me the the
first item it got and show me the rest, I know that XL 2007 can do it, is it
a way to do it on XL 2003?

Print all columns - Excel 2007- How?
Hi - I have a simple mileage/tracking reimbursement Excel 2007 spreadsheet
with 9 columns (A through I).
Here's a screenshot:

For some reason, I can only print columns B through F even in Landscape
mode.

cannot open exel from windows xp in windows vista and visa versa
Seems that the format in windows xp is a different format in windows vista. I
try to open an excel file sent from xp to vista and it gives me a message
that this file cannot be opened. In xp the format is .xlr and in vista it is
..xlxs. Is there any way that either xp or vista exel formats can be changed
in order to open an attachment of a vista or xp file so it can be compatible

How Bad Can Excel 2007 be?
Using the sum function in a blank cell to subtract one cell from another in
a row Excel keeps telling me I am using a circular reference and will not
perform the calculation.
If I move over one cell and enter the same formula all works as it should.
Unbelievable: I think Excel is probably the cause of the stock market
meltdown because this dog can't hunt.

Conditional Formatting / Cell Fill Colours
I need to specify 6 cell colours according to score
0 = Grey
1 = Red
2 = Yellow
3 = Orange
4 = Brown
5 = Green, for example
However you can only apply 3 conditional formats…..has anyone got any ideas
on how to do this?

How to setup formula to collect ongoing information
I have setup a questionnaire which will continuously have an answer section
added to it. I am setting up a formula to count the yes and no answers. How
would I set a formula up to count all the ongoing answers? Example would be
=COUNTA(B6:G6) but then I add another two column of answers and need the
formula to now read =COUNTA (B6:I6). Do I need to keep adding a new formula?

Hi all,

Average of Cells with referance to name in column.

Not sure if the name of this thread makes any sense but here ya go.
