simple subtraction
For each row of data, I want to display the difference between the value in
cell C of the current row, and C in the next row. eg where "x" is the
current row:
=SUM (C(x+1), -Cx)
How do I create this formula ?...

Counting occurrences of products in a master list
I want to count the number of occurrences of a small list of products that
appear in a large (2,000+) inventory list. I used the countif function but
there's a specific situation where my formula fails. Here's the example of
the product numbers in the small list:

how to search vertically then count horizontally in excel
Hi I'm trying to work out how to FIND an instance of a name on the vertical
axis, then count any iinstances of a particular text on the horizontal. i.e.
Joe bloggs is in cell A1 on sheet 1 then on sheet 2 he is in cell A10.
Sheet 1 shows what days Joe worked and was on holiday, as does sheet 2.

Resizing an activex checkbox control
We had placed an Activex Check Box control on our worksheet. However, the
actual check box is a tiny little thing. We need to enlarge the size of the
actual check box (not the text, not the object border).

but unfortunately, the sheets have different ranges for summing.

Pivot Table Hiding Totals = Zero
Hello all:
I have a pivot table that sum the sales of every seller during a period of
time as you can see below, I´d like to know how to achieve the pivot table
doesn´t show the sales people when the total sum of sales is cero

Excel Drop Down Lists Help
I'm attempting to make a drop down list that selects one particular item and
will sort the excel spreadsheet by the selection.
For example: If my list includes Fruit, Vegetables and Other, when I select
'Other' the only entries that show are 'Other'.
Any suggestions? I've scoured the Microsoft Excel help pages without any luck....

VLookup that returns two separate cells instead of only one
Hello,
I have a table of 76 items (A2:D77). I want to key the item code into cell
F2 (of the same worksheet) and have Excel populate two pieces of data to the
right of F2 (this would be G2 and H2), that corresponds to the item code
typed in cell F2.
The original data is contained in A2:D77 so I have no problem doing this

Value Axis Adjustment
I created a Gnatt Chart with 8 activities. The times on the values axis are
listed as 3:50 AM, 4:19 AM, 5:16 AM, 6:14 AM, 6:43 AM, 7:12 AM, 7:40 AM, 8:09
AM, 8:38 AM, however since my activities take place between 5:30 AM and 8:15

Concatenation and delimitter
In building a string based on THREE (or FOUR maybe in the future) columns
using CONCATENATE I am putting a "+" between each columns values. Problem is
that sometimes a value is blank, and therefore I don't want extra "+" in the

I need a difficult function
I need help. Im trying to put my jobs production incentive pay on a
spreadsheet. I need a funtion for this:
10000 or higher = 65% of $160 which is $104
9000-9999 = 50% of $160 which is $80
8000-8999 = 35% of $160 which is $56
7000-7999 = 20% of $160 which is $32
6000-6999 = 10% of $160 which is $16
0-5999 = 0% of $160 which is $0

Changing GPA to Ltr Grade
I have this spreadsheet that merges onto a Transcript in Word….We have

Here's one for the techies unless a macro will do it.
I have a workbook on a network drive that more than 1 person uses. If the
workbook is open to more than 1 person at the same time, how can it be
updated in real-time so that each can see what has been input?
Also how can I get round having to save it under a different name? If one
exits excel then the prompt is to save, but when you do, it requests that it
is saved with a different name.

Count Unique Values
Greetings,
I am really stuck would really appreciate some help.
I want to count the number of unique values in column B, but only if column
A contains a value.
A B
x abc
abc
x def
x
x ghi
Column B must also contain a value (not blank). So that means there are
three unique values in column B in the above table.

Sorting by Frequency?
Is there any way to sort a list based on frequency?
I have a large spreadsheet that has a alpha code in one column. I would like
to sort the list so that the most frequent entry is at the top.
Any suggestions on how to accomplish a sort other than alphabetically?
