Contacts not accessible to the To and cc in Vista and Outlook 2007
I acquired a new stand alone PC 6 months ago moving up to Vista and Office 2007
Since then I have not been able to access Contact email addresses from the
To and cc fields of new emails. All software is kept up to date.
I recently observed that on conversion from XP / Outlook 2003 the file
format for the .pst file was left in the old format (97-2002). With a bit of

where did the "saveas" go for saving contacts in rtf and vcf forma
where did the "saveas" go for saving contacts in rtf and vcf format from the
contact book individual contacts. I did it with Outlook 2003 but if seems
to be missing with Outlook 2007. Did Microsoft forget to include it. I do
not want to attach it to email. That would take too much time. I simpley
want to save important contacts in those two formats in a folder so I can

Outlook Contacts and Categories
I have a client who has set categories in Outlook 2003 and both he and I know
how to use them in a word mailmerge but he has asked " How do you send out a
mail newsletter to multiple people selected by just thier category ?" he has
not set up groups and does not want to have to go back through literally
1000's of contacts setting up new groups and individually adding them,

Mailing labels using shared contact folder
I am trying to create mailing labels for contacts in a contact folder that my
boss has given me permission to share. When I try to select the shared
folder as my data source, I am only given the option of choosing my Contacts
folder. Is it possible to create labels from shared contact folders?...

Prompt to SAVE when exiting?
I notice that when I edit a contact (adding a phone number, for example) and
then try to close it by hitting the X instead of "Save and Exit" SOMETIMES I
am prompted to save the change, sometimes the contact just closes and the
changes are dropped. Is there any way, in Outlook 2003, to force that prompt
EVERY time I edit a contact?

Inbox sorting
Why do e-mail address in the inbox list as David Smith and sometimes as
davids@email.com? I am encountering this issue when I sort my inbox or other
folders by the To: field. I have tried changing the contact's File As
settings to no avail. Any suggestions?...

Word 2007 merge using Outlook Contacts
I tried to prepare a mailing list of labels in Word 2007. I want to use my
Otlook Contacts as the source of addresses. I "Select from Outlook Contacts"
and when I choose contacts folder, there is a message, "Unable to obtain list
of tables from the data source. I had started the merge from Outlook tools
and this works: however, I would prefer to do the merge from Word....

why are my contact's children sorted into alphabetical order?
I have just typed in my friend's children's names into the Outlook CHildren
field. I did it in age order, with commas between to indicate that a space
is just a link to a second name. When I tabbed to the next field they were
in alphabetical order!
What damn good is that?
Why does MS think that is a sensible way to sort, and why has it changed
what I typed in.

Auto complete
Hello,
I'm probably overlooking something here but on Office 2000 everytime I type
in the too field none of previous contacts auto appear meaning I have to
manually type in the address each time.
Is there a setting I've not looked at to solve this issue?

Sharing categories ?
Hi, I ahve O-look 2007, we are 10 people, I made nice colour catgegories on
my computer which I'd like to ahre in a common contact folder, which we are
all using.
How can I do this ? I also have BCM for O-look 2007, can I share categories
in this one in an easier manner ?

Parameter values & emailing
Using Outlook 2007 SP 1 on WinXP Pro machine. I have made several attempts
at sending emails to certain of my contacts that we brought to this machine
via a *.pst file from another machine. This pst was "added" using Data File
Management, not by importing. Although this does not occur with all
these contacts, with several I receive a message that "-Sending reported
error (0x80070057) ...

Cannot delete some contacts in Outlook 2007
When I try to delete some contacts in Outlook I get error message "The
messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists
restart outlook".
The problem continues to persist regardless of restarting Outlook...

Duplicate Contacts folders
I see several posts for this subject, but none of them has exactly addressed

Corrupted Contact folder looks like message (Outlook 2003 & WinXP
When I click on "Contacts" at the bottom of my Navigation pane, I get the
following:
- "My Contacts" at the top of Nav Pane is empty
- Below it, in "Current View" it has the radio buttons normally shown for
message folders, i.e. "Messages", "Messages with AutoPreview", etc.

Mail merge from Outlook into Word to print labels, not working.
When I do the mail merge in Word 2007 from Outlook 2007 according to the
Microsoft help instructions everything works except the output. This is what
I get on the page: «Next Record» multiple times. I cannot seem to find
anything to solve this problem....

Forms
I just discovered the option to create your own custom form for contacts. I
created a new custom form, and figured out how to make it my default for
contacts. I need to know what steps to take in order to be able to export
the file as a Vcard and send it to someone else (they're on a Mac) with the
design form that I created....

PUBLIC Folder-View Activities
I am struggling trying to view linked activities in a PUBLIC Folder.
Appointmnents, tasks, etc. are linked to the contact in the PUBLIC folder.
When I open the Contact and click on the Activities tab, I am not able to
view anything. I have selected Properties, Activites tab, created a New
Group Folder and selected the proper folder in the PUBLIC folders list, but
nothing is visible.

How to Restore Profile/Contacts
I just deleted my entire profile -- and my contacts, through the control
panel, when I was trying to edit instead. I've lost my contacts and am
desperate to find out how to restore them --- are they still somewhere on my

change default mailing address
Everytime I add a new address, the mailing address is always defaulted to
"Business" with a check indicating that the "Business" address is the mailing
address for the contact.
How do I change it so that when I enter a new contact, the default will show
as "Home" address, as the default mailing address?...
