put a horizontal line it a document
Just got upgraded at work to Office 2003. I want to insert a
horizontal line in a document. Tried to do like I've always done, use
the Drawing toolbar, select the line drawing tool, and draw a line in
my docment. And...
I get a huge "Create your drawing here" box which won't allow me to
just create a line. Guess I have to draw a house or something? Yet
another M$ Office dehancement!

Importing EPS file into Word 2007

Drawing Canvas
I've created a photo album and use the drawing canvas to incorporate picture
and text box. It's easier to copy the canvas from page to page, but the
formating of the drawing canvas (it's layout) doesn't remain constant. Is
there a way to make the drawing canvas format remain constant when copied
from one page to another?...

Screen image does print the same
Hello,
I have created a logo and it does not print as it shows on screen. Can
anyone help me to get it working?
I have tried multiple printers and they do the same thing. An hp laserjet
and a brother inkjet.
I wanted some text rotated 90 degrees in the logo, so I used Powerpoint and
created the sideways text. Then I did a 'paste special' and dropped the

Cannot link EPS graphics with Japanese font(s) to Word XP or Word
Suddenly we are no longer able to link EPS files that contain Japanese fonts,
e.g. MS Mincho, saved by Adobe Illustrator CS2 or CS3 to Word XP or Word 2007
documents. When attempting to do so, the Convert File dialog appears and then
an error message. Users outside our company have verified this behavior.

Word 07 won't display pictures
When I first loaded Word 07, I had no trouble with displaying pictures but
suddenly it stopped working. Not sure why. Now just a black box. It will
print out the image, I just can't see it. When I resize the image it is
briefly visible too.
Have tried:
- changing the view - no luck
- checking the tick box for picture placeholders and for drawings - no luck
- emptying the temporary ...

Inserting Graphics
Any idea why, when I insert a graphic file, it appears at the very top of the
page, partially missing? when i check the specs, it's set as "in line with
text", but the vertical absolute position is -8.21 below paragraph. in order
for it to appear on the page, i have to change the text wrapping to "tight
and change the verticle absolute position to "0". BUT, ... the original

How do I erase crop lines from an imported image in a word docume
I presenting an offer to an Architect , on the cover sheet is an imported
image his planned home that I scanned. It shows the crop lines (a rectangle
around the image) I would like to just place this image on the proposal with
no crop lines. How do I do that in word?

converting wmf to jpg
I downloaded several clips from microsoft and a lot of them were wmf but i
need jpg or jpeg. Is is possible to convert them? My website will not take
wmf? Keep in mind that I am a "dummy" so if possible answer in really plain

"Old English" style template?
I wish to create a Word 2007 document with a background resembling an old
style parchment paper with rolls at the top and the bottom. I think of that
as an "Old English" document although I could be wrong. Is there a template
available? I looked but was unable to find. If not, how can I create? I want
the background and the ability to type in my own text and then of course to

Excel graph losing background color when copied into word
Hi,
I'm trying to paste several graphs from excell to word. The graphs have a
yellow (thus not-default) background color. I'm doing this for quite some
time, but the last few months the background color just dissapears when I
paste the picture (doesn't matter wether I paste as metafile, bitmap, or any
format and no difference between vba-paste and manual).

How do I save an image sent to me in a Word document?
I normally use another word processing program which allows the user to right
click on an image in a word processing document, then "Save" the image. When
I receive an image in a Word document, I am allowed me to right click and
"copy," but when I paste the image in another graphics program the image
quality is horrible. Is there a simple way to select an individual image and

Images not appearing in 2007
I am having an issue with word documents that were created in Word 2003
images not appearing in Word 2007.
Instead of the imaging showing in 2007 I get a black box.
If I open the same file in 2003 version the image appears.
Does anyone know why this would be happening?

How to change color of globe in contemporary template?
With Word 2003: The built-in contemporary letter template has some
background gray bars and a globe image embedded in headers and
footers. I'd like to change the color. It's easy with the bars, but
I can't see how to do that with the globe image - short of rejiggering
it with photoshop or some such, which I don't have. Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated. THANKS....

Problem with Labels - Inserted graphics moves slightly
I am using a standard Avery template in Word 2007. I have inserted a jpg
file that was created to the exact dimensions of my round label. When I get
it looking exactly right and save (or print, etc), it moves each jpg
slightly. Then all the jpgs become very slightly offset which of course
causes the labels to print off. Since they are round labels, this causes a
