When I try to open an existing document with Word 2003, I get a dialog =
box that reads "this command cannot be performed because a dialog box is =
open... - yada yada yada." How do I stop this from happening...

Hidden Folders
I back up selected files and folders to a portable Iomega USB 250GGB hard
drive, using Iomega backup software "Iomega Automatic Backup Pro" The
software lets you create a backup data set folder into which the desired
files and folders to be backed up are copied into. You can create multiple
backup sets, and I currently have four.

no spell check in word - 2007
Hi there.
Word is not helping me at all. It seems as if Word has no spell checker
installed. I even un-installed the whole package with no luck.
Words spelled incorrectly aren't marked red and therefor no option to
correct it.
Another funny thing is that New documents after opening word, start at
Document2.
Hope someone can help me.

Office Shortcuts -- Slow To Start
When I launch Excel or Word from a shortcut it takes forever to bring up the
program (60 to 90 sec). If I launch either program and then open the
document their is no delay. I have reinstalled Office, but it did not help.
I am running Office 2K on an XP (SP2) machine with 2GB of memory.
Any ideas?

i to remove default return address on envelope
hello i have read how to remove the return address on an envelope which i
swhat i would like to do, but i cannot see the options tools ETC in word
2007, to remove, the address i used was not in my address book, just a from
keith and Faye type thingy, now i cannot get rid of it, would some kind soul
take pity and email the answer, thank you millions.

Changing the Color of Table Lines (?)
In a rather complex table in Word 2002, I'd like to change
all of the line colors from black to blue (without getting
black and blue myself) in one easy step, but I don't see a
way of doing this.
Any good souls here know a trick or two?

Word 2007 margin problems
I just updated to Word 2007 and when finished typing I turn my word docs in
and then they are to get converted to WP 5.1 is this compatible or possible.
Also while typign my margins need to be set at 1" but when I go to tab and
turn my work in it is moving my margins where I had tabs.
For example
AdvLft 1"
L/R margin: 2", 1"
Any ideas for this? Am I supposed to change the style se...

Stop asking to update entire table of contents
Is there any way to get Word to automatically update the entire table
of contents when field are updated?
When I print or if I manually update fields, I always get this prompt.
I always want the entire table updated without prompting.

Email "Send-To" Question
Our church office has begun using MS Word 2002 to email a newsletter, using
the File>>Send To>>>Mail Recipient function. So far, no complaints, but I
was asked a couple questions I couldn't answer - What happens if the
recipient does not have Word installed? How about incompatibility between

How do I avoid wasting space with a large picture in my document?
Hello,
I have a Word document (Word 2003 if it makes any difference), and I
want to insert a flowchart that I created in PowerPoint as a picture.
The flowchart is pretty much the full size of a sheet of paper.
My problem is that if I insert the picture, it goes into the text where
I inserted it. Normally this is exactly what I want, but in this case, I
would prefer it if the text bef...

Converting 03 docs to 07
Hello,
I have quite a few templates that I used in office 03 and now that I
upgraded to office 07 they don't display right. A simple one page
background in 03 is not 17 pages in 07 and what you see is thousands of
small squares on every page.
I don't want to lose these templates so how can I get these templates
to function in 07?

How to keep toolbars from appearing and lock in place
MS Office 2003. I'm working from a server at work, and I have a short
document management toolbar and Adobe toolbar that always open up and
place themselves alone on a line at the top. Every time I've
deselected the toolbars, they return at the next logon. I've also
tried moving the toolbars so they are at least at the end of one of

Can't delete file after rename/save as
So I am going about converting my .doc files to .docx files. (I don't
know the compelling logic behind the change of extension, but it has
definitely been a big productivity boost for me.)
I load a .doc file and "Save as" ,docx. Now I have 2 files with the
same name and a different extension.
Since I opened it from Explorer, I just Alt-Tab back and try to delete
the old one. But it won...

Opening View is set too small
This is only one of many issues I am having with Word 2003 SP2...when I open
word the default view is 45% so I have to change to 100% before I start
typing. Also (2nd problem) I have grey tick marks which were addressed in a
different post and the recommend repair does not work

How do I import a template containing macros into Word 2007
I want to import a template devised by a third party and use it in Word 2007.
When I double click on the template icon in its temporary the computer goes
into Word but I get the error message that i need to activate macros. How do
I do this? Word Help doesn't seem to provide an answer....

How do I insert the file path at the end of a letter in Word?
In our office we normally insert the file path on letters and documents
created (so anybody would know where this document is saved on our system)

How can I turn off the"protection" feature for a form...rop
I created a 3 page form with form fields (check boxes etc) for several people
in my office to use. One of the users want to add a 4th page that she can
type notes into. Is there any way that I can allow her to type into this 4th
page without having to call up the "forms' toolbar and turn off the
protection every time she wants to type....
