Word Doc opening slow over T1 WAN
I have an MPLS network, T1 lines with class of service, Open a word doc on
'C' drive and when I print speed is fine and mouse comes back in a second or
two. Open same word doc over my T1 line off of a P4 xeon processor server,
all gbit, 8gb memory, highspeed drives, super fast servers. Top gun stuff.
When I print the doc comes back but the mouse takes 30 seconds to come alive.

Cursor Position & Layout
Hi,
When I open Word 2003 the cursor is right at the top of the page even though
in page set up it shows the top margin to be 2.5cm. Also if I move the cursor
down the page wit wil go right to the bottom edge of the page even though the
bottom margin is 2.5cm. In print view it shows a continous page with just a
line indicating a new page.

template outline missing when creating labels in Word
I have a user that gets a blank page when they attempt to create labels in
Word 2002 sp3. On the menu, if you go to tools, letters and mailings,
envelopes and labels, then click the labels tab, then options, choose an
Avery label template, we happen to be choosing the 2163, then OK, then 'new

Creating areas for editing
I want to create a word document where i want only certain areas to be
allowed to edit. Like a form where i would have a line that said Name and
then next to it will be a gray highlighted area that the user can write in
and not be able to change anything else. How do i do this? I seen this in
some other word docs but cant figure out how they do it.

Can the process of upgrading the MS operating system affect the properties
in Word documents that were created in the "old" operating system?
Specifically, can the upgrading process change the "created" property (date
and time) of all Word documents that were created in the "old" operating
system to a new value?

with a dollar sign in front of a word doc title
Somehow MS word with a $ sign in front of a the name of the word . If you
open it up, it is all garbage and unreadable. I did reinstall and upgrade
from office Xp to office 2003, it still didn't work.
Anyone know what problem it is?

Custom keyboard shortcut disable
I am trying to use Group Policy to disable the F7 key in Word 2003 (spell
check). However, I need to know what the "value" of this key is so I can use
the "Disable shortcut keys" GPO. The Knowledge Base gives the values of the
A-Z keys, Shift, Control and Alt, but not the Function keys. Does anybody
have any info on this?

Word not starting
Word XP 2002 (10.2627.2625) is not starting in my 98se.
It has been working ok since ages, but today afternoon, I was
working on a usual file, and it gave "encountered an error"
window.
Ever since it is not starting. Its splash screen shows but that
has only the name of the program, but rest of the message and
info on that box is blank.

Hello,
We currently use Word97 with a read only normal.dot file on the network
setup as a workgroup template. It allows me to standardize our document with
the same page setup but also to bring customized toolbars to all my users.
When I try the same configuration with Word 2003 everytime I exit I am asked
if I want to save the normal.dot that's being shared on the network.

How to insert Absolute hyperlink in Word 2000 to a Network Drive?
In teh old WORD 97, if you browsewd for a file to hyperlink eg on a network
drive, there was a checkbox to check/uncheck if you wanted the hyperlink to
be relative or absolute. This has gone in Word 2000 and all such hyperlinks
are inserted as relative.
How do I make them absolute without having to type in the full path?
