Office 2007 Compatibility Pack Installation
All our client machines are running MS WinXP Pro with Office 2003 Pro.
Upon successful testing , we deployed the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack via
SMS 2003. 25% of the client machines restarted after installation.
From the KB article on the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack, there was no
indication that it required a restart after installation. Is there anyone out

Find original Office 2007 upgrade on hard drive in order to remove
I'm trying to find the name of the original Office 2007 upgrade download,
find it on my hard drive and remove it in order to free up disc space. The
installation CD package claims that it's there but doesn't identify it.
I'm running Windows XP Home. Can anyone help?...

Office 2003 SP2 and updates fail to install. install log file has the details
I've got one workstation on my WSUS network that fails the following
updates:
Office 2003 SP2
KB907417 Update for Office 2003
KB932330 Junk email filter Office 2003
I've turned on logging and I have this failure showing up:

Is there any easy way of getting upgrades for dial up
I have a dial up connection for internet and due to home location, I will
never be able to get high speed. Is there a way of downloading onto disk and
then transferring the upgrades to my home computer? It takes hours to get
one upgrade and usually just about the time it is almost done.. the computer
looses its connection and it has to start all over again.
Any suggestions...

Offline Updates
I have a laptop which I've updated to the fullest extent possible
(both XP and Office). I plan on never again connecting it to the
internet. Most XP updates plug security holes which I'll no longer
worry about, but how can I download other updates for MS Office? Can
I download them to one pc, make a disk, and transfer it over? Or will
there be a validation problem (because I want to keep ...

Automatic update installation errors
for some time now updates fail to install. the error code I get is:
0x80070008 and applies for the following updates:
Security Update for Windows XP (KB908519)
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
My operating system id MS XP media Edition 2004, any help greatly

Rejection of valid cd key
I am strying to slipstream sr1a, sp3 and hotfixes to Office 2000. When the
update process applies sr1a and prompts for the CD key, MSIEXEC produces
error and tells me the key is not a valid one. But it is a valid key which I
have been using before to install my copy of Office.
Why?

close access runtime
Hi,
in my application I'am sometimes not able to close access environment when leaving the application. I'm forced back to access environment but cannot stop access. It behaves like this in access 2002 as 2003 too.
I use office 2003 Sp2 and office 2002 sp3. Application is using Oracle for db access.
An application.quit command will close the application but doesn't stop access environment....

Unable to install office SP2
I am trying to install the office 2003 SP2 and am running into walls every
which way I go!!!!!!!!!!
I downloaded both the client and full versions, then found the article
906323 and downloaded and installed the updated windows installer 3.1.
I tried both the client and full versions and am still getting the error:

Can Office 2003 read Office 2007 files?
I'm in the process of buying a new PC at work. We have a 4 pc peero to peer
network and sometimes we share Word, Excel, Access docs. The new PC will have
Vista and Office2007 while the rest of the PCs have WinXP and Office2003Pro.
Will my older PCs have a problem opening and editing files created with MS
Office 2007?

I am a registered user of MS Office 2003--using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
Outlook. I just bought a new HP Notebook with Vista and also the MS Office

Please wait while windows configures Microsoft Application
Hi,
I've recently removed the trial version of MS Office 2007 from my PC, and
since then, whenever I open a MS Office 2000 application a dialogue box
appears with the following message: "Please wait while windows configures
Microsoft [application name] 2000 SR-1". The dialogue box appears for approx
5 secs but doesn't seem to slow down my PC. It's more annoying than anything
else.

How to do IF statement in Microsoft Excel?
I have a formula for key in a grade in column A1 that resulting in numeric value in the next column (B1). For example; =IF (A1="A";4) .But how do i make it nested such that when the other than grade A is entered in the same column(A1) will result in other numeric value?e.g. B=3, C=2 and D=1.I was stuck in this problem.

Microsoft Word Detecting Possible Security Comprimise
When opening a document in word I get the message that reads:
The system has detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Please ensure you can contact the Server that authenticated you.
what am I missing that may cause this?? This is when the user is trying to open a document on a shared network drive.
