Automatic update of Office using COM interfaces

I'm using the Windows Update Agent API COM interfaces

Office 2003 updates failure
After a system crash at the weekend, I restored my system to an earlier time
from my external hard-drive back up. Everything was working okay - but when
Windows update had finished updating everything, it told me there were Office
2003 updates that couldn't be installed.
Have uninstalled/reinstalled Office 2003 Professional twice now, but the
updates are still unable to be installed.

Add more effects to Office 2003, and a new UI for Office 2003.
I and many others woud like it if Microsoft would bring out an update, with
Effects like GLOW and REFLECTION, for OFFICE 2003, instead of buying a whole
new Office suite, eg. OFFICE 2007.
And as a request if Microsoft once again decide to ignore people's
suggestions, add a new UI Interface, for OFFICE 2003.

I have xp and office 2000 professional
last week I went to te Microsoft update site en let them decide what
updates I needed, which I agreed to install
Now each time I boot, and try to install the updates, it tries to install
Office XP Service Pack 3.
I do not have and never had installed Office XP, so I cannot insirt the CD
and I do not find the needed file " PRORED.msi"

Office 2003 Updates
I have tried this 3 times now, and I cannot get the Office 2003 update site
to work. It will start to download then stop at about 30% and just hang
there. I had a tech make sure my firewall configuration was correct and it
was not because other things were not downloading as well. The tech did
correct the configuration, and now I can download things, except Office 2003

I posted in a previous thread before and did not receive any anwers relevant

New HP PC with office 2003 preinstalled lacks STD11N.MSI.
I purchased HP PC with 60 day trial version of Office 2003 preinstalled.
MSN won't install updates because it can't find STD11N.MSI.
STD11N.MSI is hidden in the D drive (D:\MSOCache\All
Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\). The D drive contains all
installed software, but it comes LOCKED and all files are hidden! I can't
penetrate the lock
Please advise a work around!...

Failed downloads
For the past two weeks I have been trying to install updates for Outlook 2003
Junk Mail Filter (KB920907) and Security Update for Office 2003 (KB921566).
Each time it 'fails'. When I turn my computer off, there is a flag to say
these two need installing so I click not to install them. Has anyone else
had a problem with these two updates?...

How can I upgrade my MS Office 2002 to 2003

Windows installer message
I tried to use Detect and Repair on my Outlook 2003 part of office 2003 and
it returns this message: "This patch package could not be opened. Verify that
the patch package exists adn that you can access it, or contact the
application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer patch
package."
Problem is I loaded Office from the update CD which then was able to be

Printing to Acrobat from Word 2007 Beta Scrambles Graphics
I have the Beta version of MS Office, and I just upgraded to Acrobat 7 and
downloaded all the patches. I was trying to print a Word document that had
several right-aligned graphics, and they would not maintain their location
when the document printed to PDF. They were superimposed over text, and the
text had realigned.
Everything looked fine in Print Preview.

Failure of Security Updates for Office 2003 KB914455 & KB917151
I am very disappointed with the poor quality of the Microsoft security patch
update process. For the second time this year I have had to reinstall Office
in order to attempt to install an update, and this time even that step was
unsuccessful. I see from other threads that the finger is being pointed at
registry cleaners and Windows Live Safety Center, but have used neither of
these.

the download takes longer than 3 hrs & my connection times out :(
Each time that my computer gets to the 2 hour limit, it automatically
redials, but in the process it throws the update that is in the process of
downloading! It is therefore impossible to download the necessary updates
unless they can be split up into manageable chunks.
Help please...

I was a victim of Kitrina, (lost my entire house) and most of my "back-up"
and initial installation disks. As a result of not having my initial
installation disk for my 2000 Office Premium, I am not able to download
