Customizing the New Notebook email notification
Hi All,
Does anyone know how you can customize the Outlook email message that
OneNote 2007 generates when you set up a new notebook in a shared environment?
I like the feature as it provides a link to the sharepoint site, but I would
like to customize the generic wording to something more specific to our
business?
Any ideas?

numbering and excel
hi all
am new to onenote and need some help on two issues please.
when I do screen clippings of items I can manually add numbering to them
by selecting the “numbering button†on the toolbar.
I wish to do this automatically when I do a screen clipping of several items
for example 1 and 2 and so on for each clipping.

OneNote disappeard from Vista Search locations
After performing a System Restore or Complete Backup Restore the search index
in Vista Search (4.0) does not contain Outlook or OneNote as "Included
Location" in the "Indexing Options".
Outlook shows up after the first time it gets started. Unfortunatly this is
no the case for OneNote. This results in reducing the OneNote search
capabilty on the current page rather than all notebooks.

Is it possible to make a link/shortcut to a particular OneNote page??
Is it possible to make an address link or shortcut, or command line command
to go to particular page in OneNote?
If a section file is opened, there is no way to choose which page is opened,
and just the last page to be used is displayed.

Preview Pane for OneNote 2007
Is there a way to use a Preview Pane in OneNote 2007 (similar to what is
available for attachments in Outlook 2007)? When I insert a PDF (for
example) in OneNote, is there some way that I can view the file without
having to either open it, or Insert it as a Printout?...

Anchoring text boxes
If I have two text boxes, one of which is a comment on something said in the
other and the two are possibly linked by an arrow, and I wish to maintain
their respective locations while editing the whole note and moving things
around, is there any way to force these two text boxes to keep the same
positioning with respect to each other and maintain the arrow between them?

Allow 'grouping' and 'un-grouping' of objects
Too often when working with different elements, one cannot multi-select very
well, or "group" objects- to move them around a page, or throughout OneNote's
pages, sections, and notebooks. This would allow a semi-global operation
(such as tagging) a "grouped" set of objects.
Example: a photograph, a figure, and text describing a mechanical task.

Inserting File as a Printout
I've been able to import adobe files to OneNote by means of hitting 'print'
and following the drop down menu to 'Send to OneNote 2007'. However, this
past week that option suddenly disappeared, and I can't seem to get OneNote
back on that 'print' list. Even if I go through 'Insert' > 'File as a
Printout' it's just not working. Any tips?...

Pasting ON table into Excel: Not possible?
A couple of searches in the Help files for both Excel and OneNote -- and
several searches herein this forum turn up no guidance on how to paste a
OneNote table into Excel. I was sure I'd seen Ben Shorr and Rainald T. write

Allow multiple tags in one text line.
Very often I have the need to mark a line of text with more than one tag.
This helps a LOT when creating first drafts. (i.e. "Reference needed,"

Can I move between pages in OneNote with a keystroke?
I use OneNote in law school. I type up case briefs before class and then put
the day's notes on a new page. I want to move between pages within the
notebook without having to click back and forth between the page I'm writing
on and the tab for another page. Is there a keystroke that will do this?...

Allow importing custom icons for Added / modified tags
This seems pretty obvious, I think, and I'm hoping I didn't somehow miss the
ability if it does exist.
Essentially: allow users who create (add) new tags to import their own
icons. Even the full collection of Office Icons would be a help; but full
availability to .ico format images would be a huge help.

How to sync two "salve" notebooks

I have one desktop PC and two laptops. All of them have OneNote2007 installed.
The desktop was set as the main OneNote notebook, the directory of OneNote
files of it is shared through LAN and the other two laptops can sync up with
it via accessing a network driver in Windows explorer to the desktop.

Change the location of OneNote Tasks
By default the tasks you assign from one note goes to your default task
folder in outlook.
Is there a way to change where the tasks are being sent?
I have a share task list from a sharepoint server that is keeping my task
lists and assigning tasks from one note to other people.
If this would work, now you are really networker.

When I finish a project, I need to synchronize changes in the embedded files

Disappearing MS Word text in embedded file
ON notebooks are located in a memory stick. Attempts to reopen an embedded
MS Word object with recent changes results in an error msg "invalid
directory." Repeated attempts results in reopened file but recent changes
are missing. Reopening the file via "MS Word" "Office Button" "Recent
Documents" list display the document including the recent changes. So I

ON 2007 - Computer failing, lack of free space to operate
Hello everyone!
I read once that it is feasible to relocate the folder "Offline_Cachefiles"
to a different location (out of C:/ drive). I took this alternative looking
for open free space to the normal operation of my computer. However it didnt
work, as you probably know, ON2007 reestablish them into 12.0 folder
autommatically.
That is to get back to point zero.

Outlook freezes when I attempt to send shared notebook link to use
I'm running XP and using OneNote 2007. When I select Share>Send Shared
Notebook link to others... an outlook window pops up, but when I try to send
the email message with link enclosed, outlook will freezes. Any suggestions?
This only happens when I send the email that auto-generates from OneNote, but
when I manually copy/paste link into a new email message and send, it works
fine....
