Record a macro in PPT 2007
I have Office 2007 Student/Home edition. I want to create a macro in Power
Point that will place the "degree" symbol after a number (small circle that
is placed immediately after a temperature).
I got it to work in Word just fine, but when I click "create" in PPT, I get
the Visual Basic program. I'm not a programmer by any stretch of the
imagination! I just want to insert this charac...

Copying and pasting makes Powerpoint crash
I have Powerpoint 2007. After copying and pasting for a while, this
functionality stops working and sometimes it crashes. Can anybody help

Music won't play with starting slide
I have been struggling w/ getting music to play w/ various slides in my
presentation. I've gotten most to run on a "packaged" CD, but the music
linked w/ the first slide still doesn't play. It's on the CD and it plays in
the originating computer. It just won't play on a second computer. The
originating computer is running PP 2007, the second is running PP 2003. For

Does anyone know how to handlethe enumerator MSOshapemixed?
Does anyone now how to work with msoshapemixed? In other words, if a shape
has that type, what do you do next?
I am trying to walk the shape collection and understand the shapes and their
details, but I occassionaly run into a "Mixedshape". So how do I find out
what that really is?

Data Labels on 07 Charts
I love the new charting engine in Version 2007...except one thing: handling
data labels. I appreciate that I can format them as a group or individually,
but the size of the label placeholder seems to be finite and fixed, causing
funky word wrapping if formatted in a different face than the chart design
calls for.

Edited movied into PP
I have spent hours to no avail so maybe someone out there can help.
I have been successful with inserting unedited digital movies into 2002 PP.
BTW all you have to to is to change the extension "avi" to "mpg". That is
what works for me.
Problem I download the clip to my computer, edit it with MovieMaker and then
the PP does not accept it. Now what? Am I looking for the "impossible dream"?...

Default clip art location in Powerpoint 2007
I'm trying to set a default location power point 2007 would look when I
click picture or clip art under insert. I found the option for word 2007. I
should also mention I'm trying to do via a gpo, but if necessary I'll can
set the setting other ways, but even the registry location would be good.

Printing from PowerPoint
We have an issue printing Powerpoint slides whereby the font size is
increased when printed to a physical printer or even to PDF. To complicate
things, the slides are in Japanese (may not be relevant - font is
STFangsong). When I print the slides on my PC in London they work fine
(including PDF), but in the Tokyo office, the font size prints larger (on

Can I compare two versions of a presentation to find the changes?
I need to check parts of a set of presentations that have been updated into a
number of new versions. While Track Changes would be good, scrolling with two
parallel windows synchronised would also help. Any ideas if there is an
efficient way to do this? CTRL-Tab switches from one window to another but
that is the only thing I have found so far....

How do I change text animation in ppt???
I followed the help menu to change the way text enters when the slide is
advanced. ie., highlight first text item>entrance>on click> highlight second
text item>with prev...etc. Then I "play" and it slows that it appears as
changed, but when I go to "slide show" it reverts back to each bulleted item
appearing with idividual mouse click! I do not see an "apply" button...what

How to convert a graph into Powerpoint objects, so I can edit it?
In PPT 2003 I could convert a graph into "Powerpoint objects" by "ungrouping"
it. That way I could edit and change it "manually". How can I do this in

Selection of elements - RibbonX
I'm trying to get user selected items programatically in PowerPoint (C#
addin). How do i do that?
In the above I'm referring to buttons (in RibbonX) like AlignLeft and
AlignTop, they are un-selectable (grayed out) until the user selects some (in
the active slide) item, how would I go about duplicating this functionality.

linking excel tables to powerpoint presentation resizing issues
Hello everyone,
I have a user who is having a strange behaviour when she links table from
Excel to powerpoint.
Everyone here is on the Office 2003 Professional package with SP3 installed,
on XP SP3.

Importing Flash into powerpoint
I have been trying to embed flash into the powerpoint from following this

I am trying to add music to a powerpoint. I can add music to one slide, but
how do I get the song to play over multiple slides? I have tried using the
custom annimation where you select the number of slides you want the song to
play for, but then the slides do not advance automatically. Please

Dissolve transition effect not blacking prior slide out
When using dissolve (small black squares randomly filling) this works with
the first slide ... all others (because they are formatted the same) look
like a jumbled mess for a few seconds and then display. How do I set
transition to clear the screen or black out the previous slide?

Language and Calendar Type in Date Footer
Hello!
I need to retrieve a Date Footer's Format in PowerPoint using C#. But
if the Language and Calendar Type are not in English and Western, I
still get the English and Western version of the date.
Does anyone know how to get the date formatted in the selected format,

Sound file starting properly
I have inserted an mp3 sound file into my PowerPoint presentation and told it
to play automatically throughout, which it does. However, no matter what I
try, I cannot get the music to start until 8 seconds into the presentation.
In custom annimation, I have tried both to play with previous and after
previous--neither one changes the time that the music starts. Any ideas?

Recenter page during Zoom! AARGH!!
How do I turn that off? I am zoomed in at 200% to do some detail work and
every time I try to scooch a line or box over, my view recenters the page on
my screen. So I can't see where I'm moving the line or box to. I'm about to
throw the computer out the window. Help?...

headers and footers
I have created and recreated the placeholders in Handout Master in the hopes
the header, page number and footer info I have input in the header and footer
section would show up when I print. I've even typed text directly into the
placeholders and it still doesn't show up.

Converting Word DOC's to PPT
I've read through the previous posts, but didn't see anything that really
addresses this, so excuse me if this has already been addressed, but I'm
looking for a way to convert many DOC files to PPT's. I've found a number of
articles that suggest various formatting with heading levels, but the results
aren't clean enough to avoid lots of manual adjustments. Any suggestions ?
