Can't Access my old Hotmail based messenger since I switch to MSN
TMData 5/24/2007 11:39:00 PM
Recently change my ISP to [ at ]msn.com. Previously I had used Messenger under a
Hotmail acct. Now when I log in to MSN Mail and try to login to my
[ at ]hotmail.com messenger acct, it automatically switches to my [ at ]msn.com login.
Initially my [ at ]hotmail acct login shows up. When I 'Sign In', it greys out
and load [ at ]MSN.Com

If I exit my MSN acct mail account, then I can log in to my [ at ]hotmail
messenger based messenger.

How can I stay on line with my MSN Mail AND monitor messenger as [ at ]hotmail?

Greetings,

What's happening is you have the MSN client software running when you're trying to log into
Messenger. Unfortunately when logged into the this software, Messenger will inherit what
account you're signed in under.

To directly answer your question, you can't.

What is the best way to 'Add' a contact to the 'new' messenger system. I
have added contacts to Messenger under the MSN client but I can not 'see' the
contacts on line.

I don't know what I'm missing.

Thx

Hi,

They'll need to accept the add request before you see them online.

I noticed this afternoon that my existing imported contacts did not give me
the option of sending an invitation e-mail. This option only existed on the
'new' contacts. Is There a way around having to delete and re-add my
contacts?

Hi,

Imported contacts will automatically get sent the "invitation" to be re-added to your list.
