Adding Gmail account defaults to IMAP
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has seen this happen since installing the updated
version of Windows Live Mail. Whenever I added a Gmail account and had WLM
automatically configure the account, it would default to POP3 with all info
in place, the only thing I needed to do was change the ports to the ones
Google uses.

Very funny:)
Today I have installed Windows LIve Essentials. Everything went good but I
can not find "send/receive" button in toobar. Very funny. Any idea? Greetings

Accessibility

Delete "X" feature
The Junk and Delete folders have a little "X" that empties the particular
folder all at once - I'd like to see this feature on ALL folders.

Delete Messages from Live mail
I have many deleted emails in my delete folder which have no message body and
only a line of info. I can't delete these lines nor do they leave on shut
down. As usual no help from MS losers.
Anyone else know how to get rid of them?...

view by conversation...
why is the "view by conversation bug" still not fixed???
it still happens with the latest beta that i go to newsgroups and now
manually need to re-enable conversation view, it just forgets the setting.
well, at least it's placed directly in the view menu now, which is of course
hidden, nor available under the "menus" button like in messenger.
come on

Can WLM purge deleted mail from hotmail account?
Windows Live Mail 2008 (Build 12.0.1606) on Vista Home Premium SP-1.
Downloading mail from my hotmail and AOL account using WLM. I have the box
checked in WLM to delete mail in the deleted folder and to purge the IMAP
(AOL) folder upon exit . I know that hotmail is a http server. Is there a
setting in WLM that will purge the deleted messages from the hotmail server
without having to ...

Can't display msg
Please help.. WLM worked well with all my counts even for Hotmails, but now
these ones have problems.. i have always the same error message when
displaying emails from Hotmail or Msn.com .. It's this kind of message :
Windows Live Mail could not download the requested message. To send and
receive messages in your Hotmail account, go to http://hotmail.live.com on
the Web, or try again later....

WIndows Live Essentials Beta Refresh but still a lot of work to do
In this Beta Refresh I don't see anything important new, just a couple of
estethics touchs but the real important things to do are yet to be done (If
you ever do them):
1) Still ugly and old stationery themes, not a single good theme like in
Apple Mail
2) Still too few options for the photo mail, I can't really adjust photos to
make a great composition like in Apple Mail
3) No aut...

OK,
Instilled I think,
Now in case I've missed it, it seems to me that applying rules manually
still doesn't work.
And what does 'more colours' do in the funny paintbrush icon, my
selection of a colour maybe added to custom colours but does between
precious little and nothing discernable to what appears on my screen.
The Sync button is now positional on the mail toolbar so that's getting...

Windows Live Contacts Problem
Hi, I am still a noob with WLM.
I would like to know - is it possible to add photo images to Windows Live
Contacts (like in Windows Mail). The only way I have seen it done is if the
contact does it from their side. I would like to add business logos, etc to
my contacts so as to find them faster.
Its not a crisis if it cant be done but it would be nice.

Mail merge in Windows XP using Windows Live Mail and MS Word
I am trying to help a friend switch from Outlook 2002/XP to Windows Live Mail
in Windows XP. Is it possible to use mail merge between Word 2002/XP and
Windows Live Mail? If so, what is the easiest method? My friend might be
willing to upgrade to Word 2007, if necessary. Thanks for your help!
PS: I do not have a lot of experience using Microsoft Discussion Groups; I
am still learning how...

New beta - bland, lifeless and dull
I am so disappointed with the colorless, lifeless anemic look of the new
beta. No icons, no "wow" factor. Compared with Messenger it looks like a
drab soulless product now. All the visual appeal of the original has been
lost. Seemingly so has all our feedback about the lack of icons in the first
new beta - now even the folder icons have gone. I am tempted to uninstall

Importing mail from Outlook 2007
I cannot get mail from Outlook 2007 into WLM. File | Import | Messages does
not have Outlook as one of the options anymore. The computer has both Outlook
2007 and the beta refresh of WLM installed. Any suggestions? Is this a known
bug or a feature that is just not supported?

Usable on 800 x 600?
When I tried Windows Live Mail in April on a computer with an 800 x 600
screen, it was close to unusable, as detailed in this post at

I can not sign into my hotmail
Plain and simple, I ca not sign into my hot mail. I tried the help thing and
got a message about determining the server, which it gave me then, no
solutions. When do I get to sign in, is what I want to know!!!! Is my server
broken? When will it be fixed????

Recover Unused Disk Space
God evening,
Lately when closing WLM, I receive the following message: "You may be able
to recover unused disk space... " Most times I click Yes, however, I am not
sure what is happening. Will someone please explain what is happening. And
how do I prevent it from happening over and over again?
