HELP!!! There are two of me!!!
There was a time when I was using MSN Messenger at home and at work. I
upgraded one of those machines to Live Messenger. At that point, all my
contacts were prompted to accept a Contact invitation, as though I had just
added them to my Messenger account, even though there were already there.

Helping new users with Remote Assistance using Windows Live
Hi,
Both my dad and I have installed Windows Live Messenger 8.5 BETA. We
installed this so that my dad could use the "Remote Assistance" service from
his PC and I could fix up his PC remotely. But everytime he tries to initiate
remote-assistance, he gets an error that indicates that he needs to upgrade
his Windows Live Messenger installation. Both of us are using the same
version down...

Live Messenger 8.1 / 8.5b Logging out problems
I am running Vista Ultimate Ed, with OneCare and I have installed Live
Messenger 8.5b after 8.1 failed. So whats happening is this, Massive delays
on logging in, upto 1/2 hour, then as soon as I get a message or try and send
one messenger logs out. Trillian also does the same with only messenger
enabled?
I don't get an error message even in the event logs, so if anyone here can
help I...

Unable to Send/Recieve messages
My sister's Live Messenger (V. 8.1) suddenly stopped being able to send
and/or recieve messages.
Whenever I try to, it changes from her screenname to the sign in email
address and it doesn't go through.

Cannot add new contacts: Contact is not in your contacts list...

I have a problem with adding new contacts in my Live Messenger (right now
its version 8.5 BETA but version does not matter - its the same in any other

Windows XP sp2 audio doesn't seem to work
We were trying a video call between a vista machine and a xp sp2 machine.
Both of them have windows messenger 8.5 beta 1. Both the audio and the video
on the vista end was fine during the call. However the person with the xp
machine was unable to hear anything. His video was fine. His soundcard just

Messages sent to me on WLM appear as gobbledegook
I have Vista basic operating system. New. WLM worked fine for 4 weeks i've
owned it until yesterday when all messages sent to me appear in a kind of
Wingding language. squares, circles etc. except for emoticons. if i close
screen down and open conversation thread again, i see the text, but not the
emoticons. i've uninstalled and reinstalled WLM 8.0178 but no change. can

home premium and i've got a problem, what it is, i dont use windows media
player 11 to listern to my music, use napser for that (just use wm11 for

MSN messenger will not Open - shows up in windows task messenger
I try to open messenger but it just runs in background it seems. I downloaded
the latest copy of live today installed it and then installed(repaired) again
but no success.
I can see msnmsgr.exe in windows task messenger in the process list. But if
I click it again then i see TWO msnmsgr.exe processes in the list and then
three if i try to open the third time and so on......

Is it my computer?
I used to be able to chat to anyone without a problem, but now, i send
messages that dont get through to my friends, they send messages that dont
get through to me.. but they can talk to others fine. its just with me that
there is a problem.
is this common? i just had windows live and now have 8.5beta, what can i do
to correct it?...

Option to Receive Instant Messages On My Mobile Phone Not Availabl
I want people on my contact list to be able to send me instant messages that
are delivered to my mobile phone as text messages. I go to Tools: Options:
Phone and I see the option to "Allow people on my contact list to send
messages to my mobile device" and there's a check box to select to allow that

logging on problem
I have just installed the latest version of messenger onto my vista system.
It installed alright, but I can not login.
When I try to login into messenger I get an error 80072745?
I wondered what could be causing this and how I could sort it out?
Any help would be gratefully accepted.

messenger crashes with lifecam vx-6000
I have had my vx-6000 for a while now and have had no problem, but ever since
I switched to Vista it seems to be crashing every 5- 10 mins in a video call.
The same problem seemed to happen in XP but was fixed a long time ago. Does
anyone have any solutions or suggestions that could fix this?

DRM in WLM?
i frequently video call a contact using WLM 8.1, but notice if she has music
on in the background, the audio becomes garbaled if she's not speaking or
there's no background noise. Does the program have some sort of 'automatic'
music detector/scrambler built in? i know MS has had to do what it can to
prevent copyright violations from happening with their products, but is this

Music Mix
Is Music Mix intended to be a vehicle for sharing music while chating? It
would seem so given the loading banner illustration. We could each list our
music and play it on our individual screens, but could not hear or see what

Sharing Folders In WLM 8.5 Beta
Just recently i installed WLM 8.5 Beta and everything was well. Now in WLM

No more sound in Live Messenger 8.1
Hi there!
Today I'm encountering this new problem: LM 8.1 doesn't play sounds
anymore! I mean sounds for alerts, new incoming msg , etc. and also
audio in video-calling; furthermore, LM doesn't show anymore the music

Unable to Install WLM on Vista
I have just purchased a new laptop with Vista installed and I am getting the
