Help: Messenger hangs 30sec after launch whether or not I login
Thought I had this problem licked in a previous post, but after installing
8.5 beta 1, it came back. I can't get rid of it by reverting to 8.1 nor by
trying the fix that worked before.
ISSUE: LIve Messenger 8.1 (and 8.5) hang about 30 seconds after launch.
DETAILS:
* Happens whether I log in or not (meaning, will happen after 30
seconds just sitting at the Login prompt w/ no use...

Live Messenger, Will not start & Open, Consistant Error Message?
Hi Y'all,
Whenever i start Live Messenger, I receive a request to send Microsoft an
Error Messege. I have Removed it from Add/Remove Programs twice and reloaded
it after rebooting but still the same?
Please Advise.

Whiteboard and Application Sharing activities do not work
I have been unable to get the whiteboard or application sharing to work. I
have tried across the WAN, locally on different LANs with a variety of users
etc. I have never seen this feature work in all the various versions of
messenger over the years. I also have not found anyone else who has been able
to make it work. Can someone in the messenger team confirm that this is a
tested feature...

Can't Hear Audio I Windows Live Messenger
My son is in Iraq and we have tried to set up video conversations but we
can't get our audio to work. The video is ok on both sides but the audio
doesn't work on either side. He is running Vista and I have XP SP2 with all
udpates.

IP Request
Hi, i was wondering if it was possible to get the IP address of a user with
whom you have had a converstaion with?
My friend had his laptop stolen and while on holidays yesterday, out of the
country and not on a computer he appeared online, obviously whoever had
stolen the lapop had turned it on and logged in automatically. I sent two IMs
unanswered to him before realising what was happen...

New Feature Suggestion: "Application and Music Bazar"
Please add a feature in the next version of Messenger by which:
1. Each user will be able to create a list of favourite applications that
he/she has installed on his/her computer.
2. Allow this list to be created both manually and automatically, if the
user so desires, by using the most frequently used list of shortcuts on the
user's Start menu.
3. The list would initially contain names, ...

Live Messenger 8.x standard windows frame appeared
Hello!
The standard native windows frame appeared on my Live Messenger 8.x (8.0,
8.1, 8.5 beta), making the smooth Live Messenger frame disappearing. I have
the latest drivers for my on-chip video card and the performance options for
the computer are set to "Adjust for best appearence"......

WLM mobile to Mobile MSN not working...
I have a mobile device with WM6 installed, therefore it only has WLM on it.
I can use WLM to chat to anyone that is using WLM on their PC's, however I
cannot send msgs to friends that use Mobile MSN on their phones.
Is this a bug? A known issue?
It's extremely frustrating.
WLM mobile doesnt even display if the contacts are mobile like WLM PC & even
pocket MSN displays this.

Cant Open Msn Messinger Live Ver 5.xx up
Hey, Some times when msn crashes, i CRT-ALT-DEL and end task, and when i go
to re-open msn messinger live it dosent do anything, I got back to the
windows task manager it tells me there is 1 or more "msnmsgr.exe" when i go
to close them all and re-open still nothing. I tryed to delete every peace of
messinger on my pc and re-install it after a restart and still nothing. Is
there anything...

Capturing an image from a video call
Hi. I was wondering how to capture an image from a video call. It doesn't
have to be the whole video session, just a single frame capture to a .jpg
file. I thought about Snag-It but that's a bit expensive. Is there anything
cheaper out there? I am using Windows XP. Thank you....

Can't install WLM 8.5
I'm trying to install WLM 8.5 us on a XP Pro sp2 machine with no success. I
launch the exe file, the WL installation window pops up, I accept the terms
of use, I get another windows saying "please wait while we get your computer
ready..." but after a few seconds the window disappears and nothing happens.
Any suggestions?

Why wont windows live messenger let me sign in ?
Ive just bought a new laptop its running windows vista home premium everytime
i try to sign into windows live messenger it gives me the error code 80048820
and the extended error code 80048416 im using windows firewall an ive added
wlm to my exceptions but still it comes back with the same error code ive

Friend causes Error Message
Every time I use MSN when my friend sends me a message or even is online I
will get an error message without fail. MSN then stalls and I have to close
it. The message is as follows

Dynamic Backgrounds hog your CPU
I have discovered that using a Dynamic Background causes WLM to use 50% of
CPU cycles or more. Change to a static background and CPU usage drops to 5%
or less.

Saving Messages
Other than going to Tools- options- Messages- history... Does Windows Live
Messenger save instant messages, either sent or received, any where else. I
am using Win XP Pro.

Is there a way to change the sounds in Windows Live Messenger?
Hello.. I'm pretty sure there was a way to change the sounds in MSN messenger
before, and I was just trying to do it but I can't seem to locate where I
would change the sounds. I tried going through the Windows Sounds section
but that didn't help.

WLM 8.5, Nokia N70, WWIGO
Trying to use Nokia N70 as a webcam with WWIGO and WLM 8.5
after opening WWIGO on the computer and the phone, I can see the images on
my computer using the phone as a webcam
but unable to use it in WLM

Windows Live Messenger 8.5 Beta Will Not Install
I keep trying to install Windows Live Messenger 8.5 beta and it will not get
past the accept license screen. When I click accept it disappears and does
not continue. The folder Windows live is created in my programe files folder
with an install folder with these files:

See one's display name even after giving the a nickname?
Hi,
I think it would be nice to somehow be able to see the display name of a
contact, even if I explicitly given him/her a nickname.
What I'm saying is: it's cool that I can rename somebody (I use this to
eliminate the idiotic, lengthy and retarded names), but I still want to be
