HELP: Messenger hangs about 15 seconds after launch everytime
I've been using Windows Live Messenger for a month with no issue on this new
laptop. (build 8.1.0178.00). 24 hours ago, it's started hanging every time
about 15-30 seconds after launch. I can login, see my contacts and usually
get one or two lines off to them before it hard hangs (even in mid sentence)
and I have to Kill the process to abort.

Can't Access my old Hotmail based messenger since I switch to MSN
Recently change my ISP to @msn.com. Previously I had used Messenger under a
Hotmail acct. Now when I log in to MSN Mail and try to login to my
@hotmail.com messenger acct, it automatically switches to my @msn.com login.
Initially my @hotmail acct login shows up. When I 'Sign In', it greys out
and load @MSN.Com
If I exit my MSN acct mail account, then I can log in to my @hotmail

LIVE MESSENGER 8.1 REFUSES to DO REMOTE SUPPORT-SAYS NEED UPGRADE
I have the very most current live messenger. I have been using messenger in
its various iterations for 4 years to render remote support to my clients. I
am NOT behind a firewall, all my services (REMOTE) are on. When I instruct

Allow messages to mobile device - greyed out
In Windows Live Messenger I have a Windows mobile account set up with Bell
Mobility. I have received the confirmation SMS message and replied, I can
log in to my Live account and my Live Mobile account.
People can not send message to me. In Tools - Options - Phone I can't check
of the box "Allow people on my contacts list to send messages to my mobile
device" because it is greyed out....

Unable to open links in conversation window
Hi,
Was wondering if any one can help me with this problem. I am unable to open
links sent via the conversation window. I have to cut and paste the link
manually in order to open the website.
Any else with this problem? I'm using version 8.1. Thanks!...

Application sharing not working
I have a PC at work, and two PCs at home with the latest versions of
everything Microsoft XP (SP2, MS patches/hotfixes). I downloaded and
installed Windows Messenger 5.1 and Live Messenger 8.1. When I try to
establish a Sharing Session between a home PC and the work PC, afer a minute
or two I get an error 0x80ee000c - SIP Transaction Timed Out. Do some

Microphone is not detected in Live Messenger
In the "Audio and Video Setup" wizard, step 2 "Microphone Setup", the
microphone dropdown list only shows "None".
However, I do see it in Sound control panel (mmsys.cpl) and it is marked as
"Working". Plus, I can successfully record a sound clip in "Sound Recorder"
and plays it back, so I know for sure the microphone exists and works fine.
It is just not recognized by Live Messenger.

Problem connecting with one person
For the last towo days I have been getting notices that my girlfriend is
connected, But when I sentd her something I Get this weird "The following
message could not be delivered to all recipients" mesage and she cannot
contact me!
HoweverI know my messenger works since I was on it thsi PM with a friend. As
for her, It cannot eb the problem of a single computer sicne she uses a cafe.

i can't establish a video call with WLM 8.1
I have tried many times to establish a video call but no succes. My friend
can see my web cam and can hear me, but i cant hear or see his web cam. I
installed windows live messenger several time but the problem seems to be

view contact's web cam doesnt work on WLM 8.1
Anytime i try to view my contact's web cam, i can only see "web cam sponsored
by...." and nothing else. If i invite my friends to view my web cam there is
no problem. My contacts can see my web cam, but i cant see my contacts web
cam. This is getting too frustrating for me. Please anyone help me. :(...

Is there a Live API to include in my own application?

Error Code 80048416
Hello, im getting 80048416 when i try to log on.
- My proxy settings are fine
-My clock and time is fine
im using the monash uni proxy. Windows live worked on my XP but now im on
Vista premium 64 its not working. Any help?
Also when i try to register Regsvr32 %windir%\system32\msxml3.dll it comes
up with the error 0x80070005....

Microphone does not work with IP Camera (Vista)
The microphone does work in general. However, we have a Panasonic IP camera
with IP audio. There is no sound from the mic across the internet. We
tested on an XP machine and it does work. Any ideas??...

Live Messenger update needed for application sharing, etc.
My friend and I are using the latest version of Live Messenger available from
Microsoft, on XP SP1 PCs with all the latest patches/hotfixes. We are not
using MSN Messenger. When we attempt to use Application Sharing (or

Upgrade to Window Live Hotmail
I got an email from MSN service that there is a new version Window Live
Hotmail. I clicked the upgrade icon in the email but it failed to upgrade my
MSN Hotmail which I have regristered since 1998 to Window Live Hotmail. I

Hi guys,
Hope you still read this, but something that has annoyed me endlessly
is...emoticons ;-)
The feature itself is great ofcourse, no discussion about that! :-)
But e.g when you have an emoticon 'love' which displays a heart or you have
some emoticon linked 'ok'.

If I am on their contact list, why do I keep getting....
Someone added me to their list of contacts, and sent me a message, but when I
try to email them back I keep getting the following:
"Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable"
I am still in their list of contacts so can anyone tell me why this is
happening?...
