extending range
I have an RV campground and want to extend my wireless to the campground
immediately behind my home. I have a Cisco Router and have bought an
external antenna. ISP is good with this so I am trying to figure out why I
can get good signal close, but not away from the house, even with the
external antenna on top of the house. Please give me some ideas as to what
I am doing wrong. Thanks i...

Finding drivers for Wireless adapter?
Trying to fix up an old computer a long way from home. I have had to
reinstall XP and now the wireless adapter has a yellow ? in Device Manager
and hence doesn't work. It is the type you have to take the side of the PC
of and plug into the MoBo - sorry don't know the name - an aerial sticks out
the back of the desktop PC. I have no idea what make of adapter it is,
Belarc Advisor doesn't ...

Files Visible Over WiFi and Hard-Wired, But Won't Open Over WiFi?
My laptop (Asus 901, XP Pro) can see files on another PC (Linux
box).
What's more it can see them over WiFi and over hard-wired
Ethernet (WiFi controller turned off).
It can open small image (.png) files either way
Windows MediaPlayer can open large .mpg files either way - albeit
way jerkily via WiFi.
But another Windows app, MythTv Player 0.4.2, cannot.
One diff is that the prob...

Ping: Different Results From Different PCs?
I'm trying to get something called MythTV working accross multiple
PCs.
In a nutshell, it consists of:
- A "Server" PC with TV tuner cards on it which records shows and
stores them on it's hard drive
- One or more "Viewer" PCss that connect to the server to view
recorded shows
But the setup isn't working for me. Something to do with with my
routers is my first suspicion.

suddenly can't "see" home network
I have a Verizon Fios setup, with a wireless router. My desktop is a Mac,
hooked up by ethernet to the router. I have a Dell laptop (D600) that until
recently easily logged on to the wireless network easily: It identified a
number of wireless networks (including mine), I would plug in the WEP keyword
and connect. (After I plugged in the WEP once, that is, it would connect
automatically.)...

Post-Windows Update: Intermittent Connectivity w/D-Link Router
In the last few weeks, I have been experiencing intermittent connectivity
between my laptop and my D-Link DIR-625 Router. The problem also occurs on
other D-Link DIR 625 routers, but no other routers; and it randomly came into
being. The problem is that the network is ALWAYS visible, but connectivity
keeps dropping. Sometimes it will get reconnected on its own, but often, I
have to re...

Hello all,
I have a laptop running Win XP with SP3 installed.
Recently, for some reason (I still can't figure out why - MS Upgrade or
MacAfee antivirus update or anything else), the laptop cannot connect to the
network. When I start the laptop and login to my account, there is no error
message and the bootup is apparently OK. At the bottom right, the icon for
the WiFi appears connec...

connection to the computer from the router.
