Sharing with a wireless network
I have a desktop running XP Pro and two laptops with XP Home. My network was
fine, but suddenly, I couldn't print from either of the laptops. The XP Pro
desktop sees the laptops, but they don't see the desktop. However, internet
access works fine.
When I select My Network Places/Workgroups I am getting the message that it
can't connect to \\domain . . . no permission and then that ...

LAN setup
I can't seem to get my three desktops (XP w/SP-2), and one Laptop (Vista) to
all communicate with each other. One dsktp is connected by NIC to the cable
modem, the others connect with wireless cards. I've tried Network Magic on
all four with improvement, but not all will communicate with all. So, is
there a really good white paper on how to do this, like maybe "Networking for

problems with connection to music-server
My music server (Hifidelio 400 Pro) is connected to the network via WLAN,
and it communicates with a router (Sitecom WL-154) somewhere in the house.
A PC (XP Home), Laptop (XP Home) and Mac Pro (Leopard) are in the network as
well, via wired LAN.
The music server has to play music directly from the PC, Laptop and Mac.
It does play music from the Laptop, but doesn't from the PC or the Mac...

Yet another WPA2 question
I need to use my personal laptop for a project at work. I work at an
elementary school and never had an issue with connecting to the wireless
there. However they have updated things and now I need to have WPA2 to be
able to connect on the school wireless. I downloaded the update from
Microsoft, and read just about everything I can find to make sure I did it
all right.

Is there a trick to setting up a wireless router behind a router?
I have a wireless router given to me by my provider. Its trash, but I
have to use it. The router works fine, but the wireless is garbage.
I've got it working but the reliability of the communications is
horrible. If I set it up unsecured or WEP, it seems to work well, but
as we know that's not secure, so setting it up WPA (and it lacks WPA2)
is were I start getting issues. It wo...

loose the internet connection. To make it more complicated, when this
happens I can still use Remote Desktop Connection in windows, and connect to

How much Router do you need to have it act as an External NIC?
(If it can be done at all.)
I keep seeing ref to AP as in Access Point, but I think I'm talking
something else.
What I'm wondering about is a setup where a standalone system with a
built in 10/100baseT interface plugged into an external 80211g wireless
router which in turn connects to another wireless router which is in
turn on the Internet via a DSL Modem.
Computer(nic)--Wifi...
