Law News re 802.11a/802.11g WiFi Products
I haven't seen this news mentioned here, and it might be interesting to
users of WiFi equipment.
Yesterday, June 26, 2007, the U.S. District Court in Tyler, Texas,
issued an injunction against Buffalo Technologies preventing Buffalo's
sales of its 802.11a and 802.11g wireless networking products. The
injunction goes into effect 45 days from yesterday, so sales of Buffalo
products won...

XP Wireless Networking IBM t30
Not sure if this should be here or in a hardware forum. My CEO has an
IBM T30 laptop. The wireless radio will not find any networks when
you scan. I have uninstalled the device and the O/S has picked it
back up successfully. However, a scan finds no available networks. I
have updated the drivers, rolled back the drivers, etc. All to no
avail. It does not appear to be a hardware issue a...

wireless problem
First of all, I am uninformed about the technical aspects of this
problem, which is why I am seeking help on this newsgroup. My brother
set up a wireless network in the house using a Zonealarm Z100G
wireless router and with each (windows XP) computer using a D-Link
WDA-2320 desktop adapter. For a few days signal strength was very good/
good. Then overnight it dropped to very low/low with freq...

Why Do Encryption Schemes Sometimes Not Work?
Hello,
This is a general query that I would like to submit, and for the sake of
generality, I will not specify operating system types (beyond to say that
they're either XP or Vista), computer types (beyond to say that they're all
as recent as the XP "era"), network adapter types, router types, etc. I may
provide more detail upon request.
How come sometimes WEP will work, but WPA won't...

Problems using "IOCTL_NDISUIO_OPEN_DEVICE" on WinCE
Hi,
I am writing an application that scans for the available access points using the NDISUIO calls to the WiFi adapter
on a Windows Mobile 5.0.
The IOCTL for Open Device "IOCTL_NDISUIO_OPEN_DEVICE" failed with the error "0x00000057".
I am not sure what that the Error Code stands for. Which header file are the error codes defined for the NDIS API.
Is it true that NDISUIO allows only one ap...

Can't connect via ethernet cable
Hi
I'm having trouble connecting via Ethernet cable, although all other
PC's on the network will connect wirelessly.
The icon on the taskbar says it connected but I can't use the
Internet.
I've tried an old belkin router and that won't work either.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver and tried to
repair the connection. I get a message saying unable to renew your ip
address....

only let me enter the first 22 characters.

directly from either of my PCs I get a data transfer of aprox. 1.4 megabits.
If I connect both PCs to the Modem via the new switch, I still get data
transfer rate of 1.4 megabits, but only from my Vista PC. From the XP PC I am
lucky to get data...
