I have an Asus wl-138g v2 wireless card on my desktop PC (Vista HP) and an Atheros card on my laptop. I am connecting to my router and wlan through a Linksys WAP54G AP. My laptop reports a 54mbps connection all over the house. However, I always get only 11mbps with the Asus card even though the signal strength is excellent (88%). I have set the AP to wireless-G only as suggested in other...

Export Profiles in WZC
Is there a way in Windows XP SP2 to export the WZC wireless profiles? We have about 20 access points secured with WEP passwords and it would be helpful to setup all of the profiles on one machine and be able to export them and then import them into another machine either manually or by login script. Thanks, Stan Cooper ...

Wireless signal to another structure
We have a building with various jacks throughout for computers. Shortly after the build, a Linksys WRT54G was added for wireless. So we have our HughesNet device plugged into the Linksys which then DHCPs the remainder of the building. There is a house not terribly far behind the building, approximately 200-300 feet. We would like to project wireless signal to that house from the main...

How do I go about setting up a wireless laptop connection?
Already running one Desktop linked to a Broadband Service Provider. Would like to connect a laptop to this so we can use it 'wireless' in the house. Am fairly good working with what I've got and muddle through the 'Techi' bits, but what do I need to do to set this up? Can I use a Wizard to help me and if so, do I need to buy something first to enable me to use a wireless set-up? All ...

WinXP, switching users messes up network connection
It seems that the wireless network connection is done on a per-user basis, rather than systemwide. After one user connects well, if you switch users the second user gets a flaky or unusable connection. If you log off the first user, and log in a second, things are fine. I've tried with both Microsoft manageing the connections, and the Intel Proset/Wireless manager. Is there any way...

should # of DHCP included wired connections?
I read your ezlan.net security instructions and one of your suggestions for security is to "Set the DHCP to the same number of computers that you have on your Network" I have 3 computers on my network, one wired and two wireless. Do I set it for 3 or do I just need to count the 2 wireless connections? Sorry, dumb question I know. By the way, the article was great. It answered a lot ...
