Upgrading to R2 from Windows Server 2003 SP2
We are in the process of upgrading our 2 node MSCS cluster with Windows
Server 2003 SP2, connected to IBM Storage via Fibre Channel, to Windows
Server 2003 R2.
My questions simply is:
Are there any issue installing R2 on top of SP2?
thank you very much and kind regards.

Server 2003 Failover Print Cluster
We want to implement a two-node failover print cluster using Server 2003. We
have a mix of HP printers and MFDs (e.g., Ricoh, Minolta, Xerox, etc.). We
have eliminated all of the kernel mode drivers by pointing those devices to
the HP Universal Print Driver (UPD). We currently have all printers
installed on a single Windows 2003 server and have backed them up using Print

NLB question - Windows 2003 Standard - 2 servers
Hello
Here is my scenario. We currently have a web server that is running Windows

How does Network Load Balancer deal with Single affinity?
During configuration of the Network Load Balancer on Win2003 Server,
when a rule is configured to have “Single” Affinity, on what basis
does the load balancer decide which node is to be used? Is it the IP
address from which the request is received?
If that is so, if multiple clients which are behind a public gateway
try to access the server, the server will see the traffic coming from
just...

We currently have a sql server 2005 server clustered. One one node the disks

Windows 2008 virtual cluster?
I'm evaluating Windows Server 2008, and (as usual with new releases) I'm
testing it in a virtual environment, using VMWare ESXi. But I'm stuck with a

clustering anymore, I'm unable to simulate shared storage in virtual
machines, so I can't test failover clustering configurations. I of course
can't use real hardware for t...

W2008 x64 cluster, unable to query service state
Hello all
I'm using GfI Network Server Monitor to monitor our network. No problem with
our W2003 servers and clusters, but problem on a Windows 2008 x64 cluster.
I'm trying to query a service state from a W2008 x64 node which is part of a
cluster. When I query with the node name of the server, it's ok, but when I
use the virtual server name I get an error "Unable to query service state". ...

What I want to do is delay one service for about a minute before it autostarts.
Just creating a new dependency service that runs a .bat file with sleep in

the other service while the batch is sleeping.
I think I thought about was to make my service dependent of a dummy service
and not let the cluster autostart ...

Electronics is the field of manipulating electrical currents and
voltages using passive and active components that are connected
together to create circuits. Electronic circuits range from a simple
load resistor that converts a current to a voltage, to computer
central-processing units (CPUs) that can contain more than a million
transistors. The following indices and documents provide a basic...

Cluster disk chkdsk
Hi,
I have a 2 node W2K SP4 cluster with EMC CX500 SAN fc storage. One of the

This appears to be initiated automatically when the resource/group is brough

I have read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/176970/en-us and this seems all
you need to do is allow it to run to completion.
However a colleague has...

I’m using the CLUSCTL_RESOURCE_UPGRADE_DLL control code to upgrade my

Is it normal or do I miss something?
Is it possible to avoid that behavior?
Thanks,
