How to repair Vista?
My problems have progressed from invalid/missing/corrupt icons:

to the Open and Save dialog boxes locking up any program that uses them, and
Explorer doing the same. Very limiting, since most applications load or save
files, or i sometimes want to see my computer.
i've tried System Restore.

Remove old XP files from Vista
Transfer of my files from my old XP Computer to my new Vista computer didn't
work. I have a lot of XP files and programs that don't work and mess things
up on the new Vista Computer. How to I get rid of the partially transferred

Yahoo & Start-up problems
I have Windows Vista, and lastnight i got booted out of Yahoo Messanger and i
have not been able to get back in, well i thought about uninstalling the
program and reinstalling it, but now i cant get my control panel to open up

Installation Problem
Since buying my new pc with Vista operating system, any installation disk I
try to run is not recognised. As an example, I've just bought an Olympus
camera and the cannot load the Olympus Master software disk. Can anyone out

Hi...to the folks at Microsoft
I've been to a quite a few Microsoft road shows and events over the
years...and always there is an emphasis on how you have been "listening" to

Need help dual-booting Vista and XP
I have a PC with two hard drives, one with XP, the other Vista. I had them
dual-booting nicely, using the Windows Boot Manager that I installed when I
first installed Vista. But I just did a complete reinstall of XP, and the
boot manager is gone. I don't know how to reinstall the boot manager so I
can dual-boot again. The machine just boots into XP. I want to use both.

Installation BSoDs
Hi there. I hope whoever is reading this has serious patience because

Windows Installer issue?
Hi,
I having some problems with at least 2 main applications:
1. AOL Active Shield antivirus
2. ATI Catalyst 7.5 drivers
I guess that both issues are related. When I try to run the AOL AV it goes
almost until 100% but the installer roll back and dont allows me to install.
I already have sucessfully installed that antivirus on other Vista OS.

Windows Easy Transfer Recovery
OK, I used the WET tool to save my current settings on my laptop pre-Vista
installation. I saved them on a network folder however the folder name it
saved the setting under was rather strange, 'UST2MC.UNC'. It contains 2
files, 'IMG00001.DAT' & 'status'. My question is how do I now migrate or
transfer these settings from the network folder to the laptop, now running
under Vista?...

Easy Transfer Prob: Changing Old computer to New computer

Activation help...I had to format my PC
Hello Microsoft..
Two days ago I had bought a new motherboard and a processor...and once I

Microsoft Outlook 2007
I was trying to setup my e-mail with Microsoft Outlook 2007. The server is
thru exchange. It said it could not log me into my exchange e-mail account.
When I hit okay, it just close the program. It does not let me go into tools
and change my setting. i tried to uninstall and reinstall it but it remember
my previous information. How can I reset it so I could modify my e-mail

Start shutdown option
In vista when you click start you can pick between Lock and Sleep. How can I
change those two to be switch user and restart? I know I can click the
triangle and see those, but I want them to be the two up front choices.

Broadband
hello everyone :)
My 'Vista' enabled computer isn't too keen on my broadband connection. eg,
some days when I first start up and log on, BB is not there and hitting
'start' and 'connect'
doesn't work, then when I reboot it, the BB may be there or not. Cycling
modem does not work either and when I leave the pooter on and it goes to
sleep the BB drops out and I cant reconnect, I have to do...

Vista dual boot and original Vista media
I just purchased a laptop that has Vista re-installed. I want install XP64
for a dual-boot configuration, but am trying to anticipate possible problems

Basic Upgrade Question
If I buy Vista (Business) 'updgrade' (I have XP Pro) am I able to keep my XP
Pro on my pc and install the upgrade on another hard disk on the same PC?
i.e. I don't wish to run the XP and Vista at the same time, but I do wish to
keep my XP on the machine in case of compatibility problems with Vista, and
switch between the two when I need to (dual boot) .
