Playing DVD from Europe??
My uncle sent me a movie on a DVD from Europe,when I wanted to start watching
it,a window came up which said i'm in region 1,and that i have to change it
to region 2.Right after that a window with '' Windows Media Player cannot
play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world.
You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region.'' comes
up.

WMP 11 No Album info?
Hi
I have just downloaded WMP11. I have ripped some CD's but no album info is
coming up. i have tried the get info route, but no go. Am i the only one or
does anyone know a fix for this?.

Minimizing Media Player
Does Anyone know how to put all the player options on the start bar where all
the windows show up when you minimize windows Media Player...
Mine used to do this but I must have played with it and now it never
minimizes to my start menu....
any ideas????...

MTP hotfix not available
I am using Windows XP Professional SP3.
Computer displays the error message NOT ENOUGH HARD DRIVE SPACE and DATA
TYPE PROVIDED ERROR while uploading .wav file of over or around 350MB or
larger from my Philips MP3 Player to the computer.

How to export to drive:\music without creating a tree in it?
WMP allows me to export to \music but insists on creating a directory
structure in there based on artist/album? Can I stop that so that all the
files just go into drive:\Music?

Viewing JPEGS with WMP-11 & CinePlayer
Whenever I attempt to view a jpeg file using WMP-11, it launches a
configuration process for CinePlayer (CinePlayer 5.0 is already installed and
working jim dandy thank you). The configuration process never ends.
Pressing "cancel" eventually clears the pop-up and displays the jpeg properly
and all other additional views attempted. Once WMP-11 is closed and reopen,

clock in media pleyer
Hi i double clicked on my playback clock in media player. It dissapeared and
i haven't been able to find it since. I went through all teh settings. Am i

Vista WMP11
I get this message, Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file
might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is
stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct. This using Vista WMP11,
when trying to view
..wmv files. Any help would be great.

Burning Audio CDs
I can burn audio CDs, can playback on my computer, but CAN NOT play on
personal CE player.

Vista WMP changes song year tag to 1899
I have Vista Home Premium WMP 11. When I play a song that has the correct
year stored in the metadata, the year usually changes to 1899. To reproduce
this: 1) Play a song. It does not have to finish. 2) Close WMP. I can stop
playing the song first, but I don't have to. 3) Reopen WMP. Use the "Add to

Magic Secret Cache?
Briefly my problem is I accidentally embedded an image from the first
album in my music folder into all albums. I manually fixed this and
painstakingly removed the folder.jpg and embedded art from each
album/mp3 (20,000+)
The Problem now is that every time Windows Media Player opens any of
these it overwrites the fixed image with the Old (and wrong) image.

WMP 11 on Vista Immediately Crashes When I Open It
Immediately after I open WMP it crashes and says it is searching for a
solution but is unable to find one. Anyone else experiencing this or have
any ideas what is causing it. I tried to get an updated version but there
isn't one available....

two issues:
first, I'm having trouble getting genre designations to work and to link
genre (in this case, a self created category) to album art. Is there some
discussion, somewhere (a search didn't reveal anything), that would offer
helpful advice as to how to do this? Specifically, what is the easiest way

Adding folders for automatic scanning
When I add under options a folder in the media library for automatic
scanning. It is dissappeared after closing the option box and re-opening it.
I've had this several times. Re-installing WMP 11 does help, but after a
couple of weeks the same problem appears again. Can somebody explain how to
avoid this?...

WMP11 crashes as soon as I go into the Video library
I can open WMP 11 just fine. I'm using Vista Home Premium. But as soon as I
go into the Video Library, it crashes and has to close.
I've tried turning off the folders that it was monitoring, because i thought
maybe there was something wrong with a file in my library, but it looks like
it's still trying to load thumbnail previews of all the videos and that's

files dont show
Hi, I am using Vista and Windows media player to stream my files but my
remote laptop which is also running Vista can only see files if they are on
the C: drive of the host machine, if I share any on my D: drive they wont
show up remotely, can anyone suggest how to fix this please?.

WMP Takes over 30 secs to start playing a song
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop with Vista Premium installed and 2 GB of
memory.
Playing a song stored in my music folder (in any format: MP3, WMA, etc.)
from within the player takes over 30 seconds to start playing after pressing
the "Play" button. The same thing happens when switching to the next or

Songs take ages to play and skip
Like VitalMiranda below, my WMP takes a good 30 seconds to play a song and
also most of them skip. I had a Dell XPS with Widows XP before, and WMP was
perfect. I recently bought another XPS with Vista and it's on this computer
that I have the problems, to the extent that if I want to play music now I
transfer songs into itunes which isn't half as good. Please help!!!...

detecting devices
The first time i connected my MP3 player to my desktop the windows media
player picked it up and said that i could sync music to it. However that was
the only time it did that. Now when i connect the device it doesnt' even
