password input problem after logout
Hello.
I am working on embedded xp and have some problem.
I have worked on HID driver which includes keypad driver, wheel
driver, consumer key driver and part of touch driver.
I have used autologon without administrator password and when I have
set administrator password, there are many times when I can't enter
administrator password after logoff.

XPe image broken after installing SP3
I previously had a working image with UPR1.0, which included the MUI packs.
On the target device I could sucessfully change the Windows interface
language back and forth.
I recently installed the SP3 update, including the many seperate MUI
updates. After upgrading the configuration of my image, I build a new image

Booting from USB, Blue screen after the splash screen...
I'm trying to boot XPe for my hand held device using Transcend JF V60
flash of 4 GB. I have prepared it using ufdprep.exe and have copied the
built image into it. (Have included the USB Boot 2.0 component and all
its dependencies while building).

Office home and student error
i have just got a new laptop with office 2007 pre loaded and it worked
perfectly up until a few days ago. the whole screen when grey, the colour all
programmes go when there not selected, anyway i tryed to type anything on all
office software and a message comes up in the bottom-left corner saying

Completely prevent serial mouse detection
We've got an XPe device that uses a PS-2 mouse during intial setup, and
connects to serial devices during operation. However, the PnP system
sometimes (not always) appears to be detecting this device as a mouse,
and popping up a notice about trying to install a serial mouse driver,
which fails because it's logged on as a limited user, who doesn't have
authority to install new hardware.

TASKMAN.EXE will not run - XP Pro
I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3.
The file at C:\WINDOWS\TASKMAN.EXE will not run, regardless of how I attempt
to activate it (ctl-alt-del, double-clicking on file, Start > Run > taskman,
etc.).
I do not get any message when attempting to open the file. Nothing happens
at all. The file has not been disabled by my administrator (me).

FWBF + Registry Filter
I got my XPe runtimeage image from my provider with both FWBF and
Registry Filter components.
But I encountered when trying to put my own monitored keys in the
runtimage image.
Because my application sets the default settings in HKLM during
installation and allows users to change it and save in HKCU. So I need
to monitor the entries in both HKLM and HKCU.

I do not find "Embedded Enabling Features" in my target designer..
I have installed the Windows XP Embedded 120-day Evaluation Kit with XP2
feature pack 2007 . I need to boot my target with XPe from USB stick.
I'm not able to find "Embedded Enabling Features" on my component
listings (i need to add USB Boot 2.0). What do i have to install to get
the component ? Or is my earlier installation is not complete ?

Force DHCP Discover on reboot.
Hi everyone,
I have a problem with dhcp client in xpe; if my device obtain an address
from a dhcp server, the next reboot it doesn't perform a discover on the
network but only it tries to request the same previous ip address; if the
dhcp server change, this arises to me a problem because the process to obtain

No sound on Xp after downgrading from Vista
I got so sick of Vista, I installed Xp on my computer. However, no
matter what I do my computer will not recognize any sound device. I
did download the correct chipset from Intel for the sound info but it
still will not recognize any sound device. Device mgr says it is
working properly. And It is not on mute. That is the first thing i

DSP service will not start in SP2 OK in SP1
We are in the process of changing the PC 104 in our machine due to the end of
life of our current PC104. When I build a test image using XP Pro SP 1 the
DSP service starts and runs fine. When I build the image using XP Pro SP2
the service will not start automatically. I have to go into services and

Task manger new task error
I've build a WES configuration with a custom shell write in C#.NET 2.0
with winlogon and an automatic user login with Administratos
permission.
When I run task manager I don't run new task and I recive the system
error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You

Question about ipsec
Hi!
I have a question about using ipsec on xp embedded. From doing a
little research, it looks like you have to use the "Security Settings
Editor" in order to configure ipsec on Windows XP Embedded. But in
order to install that, you have to install the XP Embedded Feature
Pack. But then the feature pack also has requirements...

How to remove IPV 6 Support
Hello,
I would like to remove all components related to IPV 6 support from my
image. My device seems to give improved perfomance when these components are
not installed. Unfortunately, when I remove them from my image, I run into
dependency issues.
For example, "Peer to Peer Networking" and "Windows Firewall/Internet
Connection Sharing" seem to require the "TCP/IP Version 6 Service"...

After a while of successful operation of the XPe installed on my single board
computer (Tiny886ULP), the developed applications on the SBC started to go

No more "fixed" CompactFlash being made?
The supplier we get our CF's from has warned us that in a matter of months,
CompactFlash flagged or flagable 'fixed' to the OS (as opposed to
removable) will no longer be manufactured.
He can provide us with another device from a different manufacturer after
stock runs out, but that would only be a temporary solution (for the same
reason).

Using NT Loader with EWF in RAM REG mode on ES2k9 (eval version)

I can build OS images to use EWF Loader and DISK overlays on my hardware but
I have not been able to build with the EWF component using the NT Loader. I
need to be able to use the NT Loader as the EWF Loader causes an issue with

Problem with System restore and Windows Update in XPe SP3

I'm having problems with System Restore and Windows Update after I've
